Introduction Harry Potter, the Apprentice Sorcerer, can hardly wait for his second year of studies at the Hogwarts Academy... And we all have been anxiously waiting for a sequel to the wonderful game of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone! So, here it is: The Chamber of Secrets! Enjoy! Harry still controls a number of magic Spells that he practiced last time: Flipendo, Alomohora, etc… and instructions of how and when to use them will be provided in the first levels. The game Manual is very elaborate and all is clearly explained. There isn’t much to add here. Anytime press ESC to see the Menu featuring a number of options. Among these you’ll find a handy Map: click on the Map Icon in the Menu or press TAB for a direct access while in the game. This game has no levels in the strict sense, but I divided the walkthrough into 12 “levels” and an introduction. Each level contains a number of chapters. Check the menu on a regular base: Harry’s objectives are mentioned in the lower window. SAVE GAMES Save Games are either made by a Save Book or automatically. When you see a Save book in the game, just walk into it and your game will be saved. This is an optional save point. You may use it, or not. While playing, the game will often load and you never know whether a save point is then automatically made or not. The disadvantage of this system is the fact that you have only one save game at your disposal, namely the save game that has last been made. And all previously made save games are simply gone! That is why I have divided the levels into “loading blocks” which are mentioned between colored square brackets: [7.3] means Level 7 – loading block 3. This means: wherever you are playing within this block you’ll return to that save point when Harry faints or when you re-load the game. That is, provided that you have voluntarily saved by a book should such a loading block have thus been made. If not, you’ll return to a previous automatic save point. Often a door closes behind Harry’s back when a save point has been made. Hence, you are prevented from back-tracking, which may be troublesome should you have forgotten something. However, since this game is partly linear you may always re-play certain sections. Therefore, it is always a good idea to check where you are. Be aware of these automatic save points. They are clearly indicated in the walkthrough. There is a trick for classifying and enumerating all save games corresponding with the loading blocks though. But you will need some experience with administering folders and files in your Windows Explorer. You must copy certain files and preserve them in selected folders that you’ve made. A technical explanation is available on request. That way, you would be able to start from any save game you’d like. There are 6 defaults slots for independently played games. BERTIE BOTT’S ALL FLAVORED BEANS You’ll find these colored Beans throughout the game. Walk up to them and they’ll automatically add to the account of Beans in Harry’s inventory. They represent Harry’s “money” in this game. On various places you’ll run into students that are continuously tossing such a Bean. Those are the traders: they’ve got something that they may offer in return for an amount BB Beans. If a trader has something to sell, he or she will spontaneously call Harry when he is nearby. Next, Harry will ask: what do you have? The trader will specify the available item. A window will then pop up stating the price quoted in BB Beans, the amount of Beans Harry currently owns and whether you would like to trade or not. WIZARD CARDS Each bronze, silver of gold Wizard Card has a specific number and carries a name. Each card has a unique location and the walkthrough provides all the information for each of the Cards. This information comes with a color code for each kind of card. Recovering all of the cards is almost like a game of its own. Some are meticulously well hidden! Most of the bronze and silver Wizard Cards are hidden in chests, and many of these chests are to be found inside Secret Rooms. At any point in the game the menu offers all information on Secrets and the number you have so far uncovered in a section. Always look in the upper right corner of the menu. The gold cards are to be found elsewhere. The walkthrough will reveal of how and where to get them. At the end of this walkthrough an appendix will be provided with the location of each Wizard Card. The classification is done by save blocks. If you like you can take a look at the appendix right now of course. Just click on the appendix to do so or just click on the image Wizard Cards on top of each page... Should you have missed any cards, you’ll easily check the number of the Card in the table and find out where that Card is located. At the end of the game you’ll have the option to walk around freely and re-play any part you’d like. You can always recover the Cards by then. The game offers the option of completion of your Wizard Cards by trading as well. Each time when you miss a Card in a quest you’ll find some trader that will offer you that particular Card for sale. They’re expensive though! But somewhere in the game you’ll get the opportunity to earn loads of Beans! That will be with the Wizard Duel which will be explained in Level 5. PARTLY LINEAR Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is not a linear game by definition. Which means, there is not a unique sequence of play game. However, there is a certain order to be followed. Harry will get missions to accomplish. Missions are provided by students who will meet Harry and give suggestions of what to do next. You’ll have to check the map often and find out of where your next presence is supposed to be. At any point the menu provides that same information. Before attempting any mission you have the opportunity to freely explore the premises and look for Secret Rooms or go play a Quidditch game. The Story Harry Potter lived at number 4, Privet Drive with his horrible Uncle and Aunt and their hateful son, Dudley. Harry was often locked in his room and even though he was a Wizard, he couldn’t escape because he wasn’t allowed to use magic when he was away from school. One evening, a house-elf named Dobby appeared and said: Harry Potter must not return to Hogwarts! If Harry Potter goes back to Hogwarts, he will be in mortal danger! Dobby disappeared and shortly after, Harry’s best friend, Ron Weasley, and his brothers, Fred and George, arrived in a flying ’58 Ford Anglia to rescue Harry from his prison. They flew him to their home, the Burrow, where Harry spent the rest of the summer, before traveling by Floo powder to Dragon Alley. Harry met up with Ron’s sister, Ginny, and went with her to Flourish and Blotts where the famous Wizard Author, Gilderoy Lockhart, was signing his latest book. Great Scot! Is that…? No, surely not! It is! It’s Harry Potter! Gilderoy: Ladies and Gentlemen! This is the perfect moment for me to make an important announcement! I have the great pleasure in announcing that I will be taking up the post of Defense against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts! Bet you loved that, didn’t you, Potter? Famous Harry Potter! Can’t even go to a bookshop without making the front page! Obviously not every guy sympathizes with Harry as much as Ron and Gilderoy do! Leave him alone, he didn’t want all that! Now that’s one lady with guts! Potter, you’ve got yourself a girlfriend! Yeah, that’s for sure, but this guy hasn’t! Mr.Blotts approaches Ginny and whispers in her ear: I suppose your parents will go hungry for a month to pay for all the books you’re going to need at Hogwarts… It’s the least I can do to help out the poor and needy. The kiddies are all getting involved in a discussion Harry just realizes that the Hogworts Express should be leaving any minute now. He runs outside and meets Ron. Ron: Harry, we’ve missed the train! The Hogwarts Express left five minutes ago! Harry: Oh, no! What are we going to do? Ron: Well, I know that dad took the flying car to work this morning…It’s parked in Charing Cross Road. Harry: Okay. It’s our only chance to getting to school on time! Being sure to check that no one was watching, Ron and Harry took off in the old Ford Anglia. Ron: Now all we’ve got to worry about are Airplanes… Harry: I think we’re almost there... But they end up in a storm: I can’t see anything in there! Suddenly an Airplane appears out of the blue and almost hits the car. Uh-oh, I think the car’s cutting out. But it’s too late: the car begins its descent… C’mon, car… c’mon! …and is bound to crash near a huge willow tree. Let’s all join Harry in level 1! Level 1: Back to School Harry has to rescue Ron [1.1] The boys are thrown out of the car. Harry wakes up and hears Ron crying for help. He is squeezed tight by a branch of the giant tree. Turn around and walk towards the green grown wall. Turn to the right and you'll see some huge willow branches on the ground. Walk that way. Run under the “angry” willow branch and turn left in the opening. You are instructed of how to cast Alomohora on the chest. Many of these chests contain “Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans” and sometimes also a Wizard Card. Aim on the chest until you see some kind of key hole. Walk to the beans to get them into your inventory. Turn to the right and climb up the stairs. Walk towards the statue in the niche in the wall. I can use this Gargoyle as a target to activate the Lumos Spell, says Harry. Aim on the statue until you see a half moon. The Lumos spell opens an entrance to your right. Go passed the entrance. There you’ll see a Save Book. Walk into the Book to save the current state of your game. When Harry faints (Harry is an immortal Wizard and doesn’t die in this game: he just faints) your game will automatically revert to the point where and when you last touched a Save Book. Also when you exit your game and start up again, your game will we loaded from this point. [1.2] This number between brackets [ ] indicates a new save game: level 1, save game #2 (the game may be automatically saved). Cast Flipendo on the big statue in the fountain and grab some Beans. Walk through the corridor next to the fountain. You’ll end up between the willow’s branches from another side. Cast Flipendo on the block and it will move to the wall. Jump and go to the next section where another “angry” branch is going up and down. Sneak under it. Cast Alohomora on a chest against the wall to extract a Frog. Chocolate Frogs replenish some of Harry’s stamina. They also taste delicious! So be sure to get it. Next to the chest there's a colored section in the wall. Alohomora can open up magically locked objects such as chests and secret doors. Enter the cave and cast Alohomora on the Chest. You’ll get more colored Beans. One more “angry” root to pass. Good job, Harry! Now, see if you can cast Flipendo on this branch to get it off Ron! That will free him. But the Anglia takes off! Ron’s father won’t like that! Enter the new opening in the wall and follow Ron. Inside cast Lumos on the new Gargoyle. That will reveal a hidden ledge to jump on. Proceed to the SB. Finding the way to the Castle [1.3] Harry enters a polygonal room where he must collect all the Beans by jumping the ledges. Of course snatch the chocolate frog! Jump down and cast Flipendo on the central block and it will move against the ledge where Ron is standing. Hop over and follow Ron. Turn left and cast Lumos on a Gargoyle. That will open an entrance where you’ll notice a Flipendo Sign. Cast a Spell and a staircase will rise. To your right of the grilled door is a niche. Cast Alohomora and release a chest. Cast Alohomora on the chest to find more Beans. Find your first bronze Wizard Card # 7: Hesper Starkey 1881-1973, Witch. There are 50 of these scattered throughout Hogwarts. Each time you collect 10 new bronze cards, you are given a permanent stamina increase! Check the menu for Folio Magi and look at the Wizard Cards you’ve collected thus far. Cast Flipendo twice on each of the two iron soldiers for more Beans. Follow Ron to the Castle. First go right of the Dragon Statue and open a chest. Further on two doors are locked. Left of the Statue another door is locked. Follow Ron and turn around. Cast Flipendo twice on the Dragon's face and get more Beans. Don't enter the castle for now, but turn left and go down the stairs. Follow Ron but don’t enter the door yet. Turn left and go down the stairs. Open the chest and return, turn left. You’ll notice a Wizard Card which is not available yet. Turn left and cast Alohomora on a wall plate. Enter and grab all Beans. Open a chest for more Beans. Return and proceed to the other side of the Castle’s entrance and open another chest. Go to the entrance where Ron is waiting and enter the Castle. Inside Hogwarts The Gryffindor dormitory is just over here to the right, Remember? Says Ron. Go left of the staircase and open a chest casting Alohomora. Walk up the stairs. You can’t reach the ledge between the two harnesses for now. There is a sign on the floor: a future Spell. Climb up the stairs. Cast Flipendo twice on each of the Harnesses and get all the Beans you can. Go and explore all the passages. There are entrances on both sides of the catwalk on the second floor. The entrance to the left (facing the harnesses) has a spot on the wall. Cast Alohomora and enter a secret room with a green acid on the floor. Avoid the acid an grab the Beans. If you touch the green acid, it will cost you some of your health! Proceed to the left passage and look for a mirror on the wall. Alomohora! Inside, turn right, find Beans and open a chest. Go out, turn right past the staircase and cast Flipendo thrice on a Statue for more Beans (it will start laughing!). Turn right, follow the stairs, and turn left. Cast flipendo on the other Statue and it will retreat. Step on the stone in front of it and a door will slide open. Enter a room with a chest and a pot which you can’t use for now. Open the chest and find the silver Wizard card # 13: Andros the Invincible, Ancient Greek. Go straight past the statue, turn left and follow Ron to the spiral staircase. Finally there’s the Portrait of the Pink Lady. Give her the password and let’s go to bed, says Harry. Hermione arrives: I heard the most incredible story about you two getting expelled over a flying car... the password is WATTLEBIRD. That will open the door!! Two fellows arrive and tell our friends they should hear about the bean trading system they’ve set up. It’s based on Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. If you have enough Beans you may occasionally trade them for a rare item! Once inside the Common Room, Harry is greeted by the cheers of his fellows Gryffindors. Harry and Ron became Gryffindor heroes due to their little accident with the Whomping Willow. Harry slept well that night and looked forward to his first day at Hogwarts. Next morning [1.4] Meet Hermione. Don’t follow Hermione yet all the way to the 3rd floor where the lesson will be given. In stead of that climb up the stairs in front of you. In the next passage you'll see a little fellow climbing up the stairs to the right. Standing in front of a closed door he is waving at you. Follow this little fellow through the opening door. You arrive in the hall with the many portraits. Walk to the stairs leading down at the right. Your class mates are calling you to come up. Don.t pay attention to that yet. Walk down the stairs. Downstairs some of the kids are offering you to trade BB Beans. Don't trade them yet because Harry doesn't have enough of them yet to trade. Walk towards the chest in the right corner of the room. Cast the Alomohora spell on the chest to get the bronze Wizard Card #51:Ethelred the Ever-Ready, Medieval dates unknown. Then walk to the left corner and use the Savebook... So... let's follow Harry to level 2! Level 2: Rictusempra The Hall of the Moving Stairs [2.1] You are down in the huge Hall of moving stairs and paintings on the walls. Go up the stairs and exit by the doors you came in. Go to the central Hall of Hogworts and down the stairs. Enter to your left and cast Alohomora on the mirror on the wall. There are ledges with Beans and a chest containing more Beans. Proceed to the Great Hall and open the two chests. Go back to the grand staircase in the central Hall. At this point you may also go outside for an optional side trip and grab whatever you can. You can grab once more all the beans you collected before. When you do this, you'll end up with about 185 Beans! So go for it... After that, return to the Hall with all the paintings and the living stairs. The first stairs will take Harry up to a ledge where he will meet Nick (voice of John Cleese). Nick tells Harry that after all these years he still finds new secrets in Hogwarts. Here’s a special area that you can unlock only if you collect all 40 silver Wizard Cards. Cast Flipendo on the two cauldrons and collect their Beans... Before going outside turn right and enter a passage. You'll notice some Beans hanging in the air. Remember this place. Cast Alohomora on the chest. Take the 2nd staircase and ride up to the 2nd ledge. Enter here. Cast Alohomore on two small chests to your left and right: left 3x and right 2x to take out the precious Beans. Cast Alohomora on a sign on the wall to make it turn through 90°. Go inside and open the chest for a nice set of Beans. Walk till the end of the gothic corridor and turn right to cast Flipendo on the cauldron. Return to the stairs and ride to the 3rd ledge. Enter. You’ll watch a cut scene where two guys break a vase and wisely decide to flee. Better get out of here… Filch might be lurking nearby. And yeah, there he is, that creep with his wicked cat, Mrs. Norris. Argus Filch, the caretaker, was loathed by every student at Hogwarts. Some thought his cat even spied on students! Suddenly the place turns purple and an evil voice speaks to Harry: Come… come to me… let me rip you! Hearing voices won’t get you off, says Filch. I’ll mark this down against you. Now move along while I clean this up. Ron is waiting there. Well, better let him wait for now. Turn around and cast Flipendo on the cauldron next to Mrs. Morris... Return to the stairs. Ride to the 4th ledge. Cast Alohomora on a wall sign and open another room with green slime. Nothing else in there! Inside the passage cast Alohomora on the painting of some turbaned Indian guy on the left wall. Take all the Beans from the floor and open the chest. Follow the passage till the statue and cast Flipendo thrice. Go inside the Infirmary. There’s one Bean at the far end. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle, turn around and enter. Hop on the ledge and cast Alohomora on the chest. Find the bronze Wizard Card # 58: Glover Hepworth, 1742-1805 Inventor. Jump down and enter the large room. Cast Flipendo on both cauldrons. Go down left or right. Cast Alomohora on the chest and earn the bronze Wizard Card # 75: Mungo Bonham, 1560-1659 Famous wizard healer. Return to the Infirmary and cast Flipendo on each of the 4 paintings. A central staircase is then unveiled, going down to a secret room that is hiding a chest. Alohomora! There is the silver Wizard Card # 71: Queen Maeve, Legendary witch for Harry! Return all the way to the 3rd ledge where Filch is cleaning up the pieces of the broken vase. Before following Ron, cast Alohomora twice on a sign on the wall to your left. Go down the ledges. There is a Gnome inside. Cast Flipendo on the Gnome and he’ll be stunned. Then pick him up and flip him into the hole. Cast Alohomora on the chest and capture its Beans. Follow Ron to the right and before finally entering the lesson room cast a spell on the “S” sign on the wall. Open the chest and take the Beans. A Lesson in Magic spells: Rictusempra Welcome to Defense against the dark Arts, says self-esteemed Prof. Dr. Lockhart. My fame makes an introduction unnecessary, but I’ll delight you with one anyway. I am Gilderoy Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Honorary Member of the Dark Force Defense League, and five-time winner of Witch Weekly’s Most. Today we shall be learning the Rictusempra dueling Spell. Rictusempra is very useful when stunning certain pesky creatures, such as Corrush pixies. See the wand? It’s going to move around the symbol. The exercise has three parts. You must hit all of the arrows correctly in order to progress to the next round. If you do well, you may earn up to 15 house points for Gryffindor! Now how about a turn in the Spell practice arena? The Rictusempra Challenge [2.2] Welcome, Harry Potter, to my famous Rictusempra Challenge. That’s Gilderoy giving instructions to you. Try to get to there as quickly as you can. If the Challenge Timer reaches zero before you have the Completion Star, you’ll loose the Challenge! Along the way you will find Challenge Stars. Collecting them will boost your timer and score. Try to find all 10 of the Stars with as many seconds remaining as possible. The higher your score is when you complete the Challenge, the more house points you will be awarded! You’ll meet some weird creatures here. Like Fire Crabs, nasty little pets that shoot flame out of their …well, at you! You can stun them by casting Rictusempra on them. Then you can use Flipendo to push them around. Ready to begin? Good luck! 3, 2, 1… GO!!! First room: there is one fire Crab. Stun and push the Crab onto the plate and the door to the next room will open up. Take your first Star and blow the new Crab on the plate. Make sure you are standing on the footsteps on the ledge when it goes up. Cast Alohomora on the chest in the corner. You’ll be rewarded with the bronze Wizard Card # 63: Herman Wintringham, 1974-present Plays lute. If you missed the ride on the ledge, go up the slope. Grab a blue Bean and follow to your right. Stun the second Fire Crab but don’t push it down. Take the green Bean. Follow the slope and eat the Chocolate Frog if you need some health. Jump on the ledge that just went up and open the chest. Enter the large room from up the balcony. There are two suspended ledges each carrying a Challenge Star. On the floor you’ll notice two Giant Orange Snails which species you may remember from The Philosopher’s Stone. Avoid touching them or their slime trails – the acid that they secret will burn you. Cast Rictusempra and Flipendo just like on the Fire Crabs. Push the Snails onto the plates and the two ledges will lower down. Also the door to the next room opens up There are 4 caged Fire Crabs. One shot of Rictusempra followed by Flipendo will lock up a Crab inside behind a sliding wall. If all 4 Crabs are locked up, a secret ledge carrying a chest will come down from the ceiling. Jump on this ledge and Cast Alohomora on the chest: the silver Wizard Card # 23: Glenda Chitttock, 1964-present Popular presenter is yours! Cast Flipendo on a sliding block, jump from the block to the ledge and catch a Star. On the other side push two blocks and jump to the ledge from the taller block. You should have gathered 3 Challenge Stars by now. The two Snails in the next room will each leave 2 Beans behind if you get them in their corresponding holes. You may as well ignore them and save on precious seconds. Follow left in the passage, where a door will slide open. Gnomes are a greedy lot. You’ve already met one on the 3rd floor. They will try to steal your Bertie Bott’s Beans. Flipendo will push them onto their backs and cause them to drop anything they might have stolen. You can also pick up Gnomes and throw them around. Throw them into a Gnome hole to permanently get rid of them. Walk up the stairs and you’ll see the Gnome next to a Savebook. Stun the Gnome and throw him into the hole down the stairs. Then, save your game. [2.3] Cast Alohomora on the portrait of Gilderoy and the wall will turn around. Inside open a chest for some Beans and a chocolate Frog. Run up the opposite stairs. Open the chest in the niche to your right. It contains a few Beans and the bronze Wizard Card # 76: Myron Wagtail, 1970-present Lead singer. The opposite niche contains a Chocolate Frog. Enter the passage with 2 purple Beans on the floor. The panels in the wall open up revealing a Fire Crab inside, and a trap-door drops in the floor. Stun the Crabs and push them into their holes. That will close the trap-door and block your way out behind you. Proceed and grab Challenge Star #4. In the next Room 2 Orange Snails fall from the ceiling. Either stun and push them into the holes for a couple of Beans, or ignore them and run past them. Stun and push two Fire Crabs in the next room into the holes and some wall panels on each side will slide down. Climb the wall to your left, grab 2 Beans and turn left. Stun the fire Crab and flip the cauldron with Flipendo for some extra Beans. Cast Alohomora on the portrait of Gilderoy and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle inside. That will reveal the entrance to a secret room to your left with Challenge Star #5 inside. Jump down and climb the other wall. Grab 2 Beans and follow left. Acquire the 6th Challenge Star floating between the two ledges. On that spot turn right and cast Flipendo on the sign. That will guarantee your exit out of here. But first eat the Frog if you like and cast Flipendo on a small sign near the ceiling. That will open a secret room. Cast Alohomora on the chest inside and earn the Silver Wizard Card # 56: Gideon Crumb, 1975-present Plays Bagpipes. Now take the exit you’ve just opened. Open the chest in the niche on your right and take the bronze Wizard Card # 93: Heathcote Barbary, 1974-present Plays rhythm guitar. Go down the spiral stairs and watch out for the Snail and its slimes when snatching some Beans on the floor. Enter the room with 3 Flipendo signs. Each sign controls a belt with portraits of… who? Yes, of Gilderoy for a change. There are three doors featuring a different portrait. Cast Flipendo on the signs and get 3 matching portraits above a door. To open the door to your right, cast a number of Flipendos on the corresponding signs: Lower belt: 2 x Middle belt: 4 x Upper belt: 1 x Enter and step on the plate decorated with feet. A ledge carrying a Challenge Star is partly lowered. Cast Alohomora on the chest for some Beans. Opening the door to your left: Middle belt: 3 x Step on the sign with feet and the ledge will completely drop. Open the chest for more Beans and go collect your 7th Star. Opening the front door: Middle belt: 2 x Upper belt: 2 x Enter and flip the cauldron to your left. Step on the plate with feet and ride up to a Savebook. [2.4] First turn left and open a chest for a bunch of Beans. Proceed past the Gargoyle in the niche of the left wall and stun the 2 Snails in the next room. Open the holes by casting Alohomora on Gilderoy’s portraits. Push the Snails in the holes and earn a few Beans. Or just ignore the bastards. Return to the Gargoyle and cast Lumos. That will open a secret room past the Snails to your right. The chest contains more Beans. Proceed left and notice another portrait of Gilderoy by the wall. Cast Alohomora, run up the stairs and open the chest for a few Beans. Go down and a cut scene will show you how the next room looks like. Turn left and jump down to the ledge with a green Bean. Turn around and pass a blue Bean. Jump down to the ledge with a red Bean and turn around. Jump down to the ledge with a blue Bean and turn right. Now cross the gap to the ledge with a purple Bean. Run and jump to two more ledges. Pull up to a ledge with a purple Bean. Turn around and run and jump to 3 more ledges. Turn right and pull up to the opposite balcony. Immediately stun the Fire Crab and push it in the hole. Watch a staircase come down. Also an exit door has opened. Go inside and flip the cauldron. Run past the two Snails and find the staircase to your 8th Star! Turn right and eat a Chocolate Frog if you like. Flip another cauldron for one more Cacao Frog and proceed right. Cast Alohomora on a chest and earn the bronze Wizard Card # 94: Merton Graves, 1978-present Plays cello. As soon as you enter the next room featuring Star #9 two Fire Crabs drop down and a trap door jails the Star. Push those crabs in their holes and the trap door will raise again: catch you 9th Star! Turn right and open the chest for the bronze Wizard Card # 78: Orsino Thruston, 1976-present Plays drums. Turn around and walk to the Savebook. But first flip that cauldron. [2.5] Look up to the right wall: there is a small Flipendo sign near the ceiling. Cast your spell and take the silver Wizard Card # 68: Kirley Duke out of the hidden chest in there. Prepare for the final tower now! A cut scene shows where to throw all those Crabs you’re gonna meet on the spiral walkway to your Completion Star. Each time you throw in a Crab, the pedestal with the giant Star lowers a bit more. You’ll glimpse a view of your final Star behind bars. When all Crabs are thrown in the pit, join them. Cast Alohomora on the narrow wooden door with Gilderoy’s portrait on it. Go in and run upstairs. Grab a green Bean. Cast Alohomora on another door with Gilderoy’s handsome face on it, Go inside and step on both floor Switches. Stun the Gnome and flip him into the hole next to the Chest that has now become accessible. Cast Alohomora on the chest and catch a few Beans and the silver Wizard Card # 34: Donghan Tremlett, 1972-present Bass player. Go outside, run up the stairs and seize your 10th Star. The door will slide in the floor and you may exit again by the spiral walkway. Run upstairs but avoid the moving beams. Jump over the gaps when they retreat. The higher you come the faster the beams will get. You may always return here and if you can manage to beat your high score, Gilderoy will award you more house points. The Weekly House Point Ceremony [2.6] Go out and turn right. Hermoine will join Harry. Follow Hermione and meet Albus Dumblemore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, who welcomes you to the very first weekly House Point Ceremony of the school year. The house with the most points wins a visit to the Bean bonus room. The length of the visit depends of how many more points they have over the second placed house. It appears that Gryffindor is in the lead. It looks like Harry gets to visit the bonus Bean room. When you’re all done, meet Oliver Wood outside. Time to go to the Quidditch Pitch. Rubeus Hagrid's Hut Harry didn’t have lunch yet but he may have collected some 500 Bettie Bott’s Beans by now. How about those for lunch? Of course, you may always trade the Beans for other goodies, such as... we’ll have to see about those. So, let’s find a Save Book first. Turn right and cast Alohomora on a chest for a bunch of Beans. Remember that sign on the wall? Open that entrance again and pick up all the Beans in the garden and in the chest. Down the stairs re-open the chest. Look at the “S” sign on the wall and cast Alohomora. You can’t enter for now. Just like last time in the dark, turn left of the Entrance door and go open a chest. That’ll help increasing your collection of Beans. Now run to Oliver who is waiting for Harry under the Dragon statue. Cast Flipendo twice on the Statue’s face and turn left to open the chest. Two guys are willing to trade here, but you haven’t got 700 Beans for a Nimbus 2001. But it will soon become clear what that is all about. On your right you’ll see the entrance to another section wich you may like to explore. It will lead you to good old Rubeus Hagrid’s Hut. Take all the Beans and the bronze Wizard Card. This is Harry’s 10th bronze Wizard Card: #61: Havelock Sweeting 1634-1710, Unicorn Expert. Now Harry has earned two life meters. Go around the hut and pick up a red and black colored Bean. Open a chest with Alohomora for more Beans. There is a door you can’t enter yet, but remember that door for later on. Save by the Book... ... and go to level 3! Level 3: Skurge [3.1] Leave this area and turn right to the entrance of the Quidditch Arena. Quidditch Follow Oliver to the Quidditch Pitch. We’re going go make sure we win the Quidditch cup this year and the way we’re going to do that is practice, practice, practice… First, a quick recap of what we learned last year. The red ball is called the Quaffle, and it’s the job of the three Chasers to get it past the enemy Keeper into one of the Goal Posts. But you don’t need to concern yourself with that. There are also two Bludgers flying around, which you don’t want to get hit by. But don’t worry, each team has two Beaters who try to keep them away from you. Last and most importantly, it’s your job as Gryffindor’s Seeker to catch the Golden Snitch before the enemy Seeker does. Since Harry’s been off all summer, let’s start out easy. Oliver is going to throw up just a Snitch for you: try and catch it. When you are nearing the Snitch press jump to catch it! The rest of the Gryffindor team arrives so let’s play a mock game of Quidditch. Oliver is going to have a Gryffindor stand in as an enemy Seeker. You’ll need to make sure she’s out of the way before you can catch the Snitch. Press jump to push her away. After the practice the Slytherin team comes joining our friends. Hey, they’ve got new brooms… and it looks like… yes they are! They’re Nimbus Two Thousand and Ones! Apparently Lucius Malfoy made a very generous donation. Remember that jealous guy we’ve met in the bookstore? What are you doing here, Malfoy? Mudblood… the nasty name some Wizards use for other Wizards who were born to non-magical parents. And speaking of mud, October arrived damply at Hogwarts, spreading a soggy chill over the grounds and into the castle. A different kind of chill would soon set in as well… The Wiggenweld Potion [3.2] Harry meets Hermione: It’s time for Potions class with Professor Snape! We don’t want to be late…you know what he’s like. Before following Hermione to the Dungeons turn back and go up the stairs to the Gryffindor Dormitory. Enter the Common Room and turn left. Cast Alohomora on a chest. You will obtain the bronze Wizard Card #26: Almeric Sawbridge, River Troll. There is a Save Book by the fireplace. Remember that Book should you want to save later on. Go down and follow Hermione to the Dungeon in the Entrance Hall. Down the stairs turn left and cast Alohomora on the wall, where there is an “I” sign. There is this funny sign on the floor. Look up and you’ll see more Beans hovering above. Would that sign mean some future magic Spell for jumping higher? It sure looks like a spring to me! You’ll be entering a dark corridor and Hermione enters the first opening to your left. Better go check the whole new area first. The opening to your right leads to a room with some green jelly. Not much to see in there – for the time being. But remember that place. Walk in the corridor and cast Flipendos on the iron soldiers. (right: 3 x / left: 2 x). Boy, that will give you some Beans. Get more Beans out of the chest. Ignore both entrances past the chest and follow Hermione. Enter the classroom. Today you will attempt to learn the art of mixing one of the most useful potions ever concocted…the Wiggenweld potion. It seems like Harry has just volunteered to show the rest of the class how this is done. A Wiggenweld potion will restore some of your lost stamina. Even a single bottle is capable of healing the most grievous wounds. Walk up to the chest and take out the two ingredients: Flobberworm Mucous and Wiggentree bark. Then walk up to the cauldron near to the chest. Don’t go to the other chest since Prof. Snape will call you back: where are you going boy? Get back over here and complete your lesson! You now have a Wiggenweld potion. To drink the potion, press space bar. From now on you may purchase the ingredients and brew the elixir for yourself! Therefore, there are cauldrons like this one throughout Hogwarts: These are the only cauldrons in which Wiggenweld potions can be made So now you know what these smoking cauldrons were all about. Harry, Ron and Hermione return to the corridor and discuss the brewing of the concoction. Suddenly the scene turns purple once again and the evil voice says: Come… come to me… let me rip you. Our friends flee to the common room and witness the murder on Mrs. Norris (the cat of Filch). In her blood is written on the wall: Then this nasty Malfoy and his gang arrive: Enemies of the Heir, beware! You’ll be next, Mudbloods! But then Aldus Dumblemore appears. She’s been petrified, but how? I cannot say… Everyone at Hogwarts was disturbed by the attack on Mrs. Norris and the mysterious words scrawled on the wall. Rumors and speculation spread… Hermione, in particular, was especially affected. Ron and Harry became sure that she was up to something… but, whatever it was, she remained tight-lipped. The Skurge Spell Lesson [3.3] Harry meets Hermione again outside the spiral staircase. We have to get to Charms Class, Harry. And I have an idea. We should ask Professor Flitwick about the Chamber of Secrets. He’s bound to know something. Let’s go! Follow Hermione to the Hall of Floating Stairs. Welcome to Charms class. Today we shall be learning the Skurge charm. Hermione and Harry ask questions about the Chamber of Secrets. Prof. Flitwick tells about Hogwart’s history. There were four founders of Hogwarts: Godric Gryffindor Salazar Slytherin Helga Huttlepuff Rowena Ravenclaw Slytherin wanted to admit only the Wizard-born students at Hogwarts. The other founders refused and as a result, Slytherin left the school. He built a secret chamber in the castle, of which the other founders knew nothing… with a great monster to guard the chamber from within. The legend states that one day, Slytherin’s true Heir will return to open the chamber and control the horror within. And then, all who are not Wizard-born will be purged from Hogwarts. Now, back to magic reality. Try not to focus on all this Chamber of Secrets balderdash… concentrate on the symbol in front of you. When you’ve successfully learned Skurge in three rounds, it’s time for you to test your newly learned knowledge in the Skurge Spell Challenge! The Skurge Challenge [3.4] You’ll start with 2,000 seconds and you know what to do to reach the completion Star! Cast 2 (right) and 4 (left) Flipendos on the iron guys in the antechamber. That will give you a few Beans and take away a lot of seconds. Now you know how that green substance is called: Ectoplasm! Skurge the first Ectoplasm and enter the next room. Turn right and then left, down the ramp. Turn left by the 2nd Ectoplasm and hit the cauldron with Flipendo. Now Skurge the Ecto and unveil a hidden Flipendo sign in there. Cross the wooden beam and Skurge two Ectos on the floor to clear the way (you can cast Skurge to free items that have been trapped by Ectoplasm). Now cast a number of Flipendos on the beam. The beam may then serve as a launch pad for your next jump. Before doing that, jump down and cast Alohomora on the “S” sign in the right corner. Inside, open the chest for the bronze Wizard Card # 32: Bridget Wenlock 1202-1285, Famous Arithmancer. Climb up to the beam and jump to your 1st Challenge Star. Go down the stairs, see a Choc Frog and flip the cauldron for a Bean. Save by the Book. [3.5] In the next room there are many Ectoplasm blobs. Cast some Skurges on them to clear the passage and open the Chest. Do a Alohomora on the red bottle. Stun the fire Crab with Rictusempra and cast Flipendo on the green bottle for more Beans. Eat the Cocoa Frog and proceed into the passage with 3 more Crabs. Get them on their back with Rictusempra and flip the cauldron for Beans. Catch your 2nd Star and run down the stairs. Ohh..no…it’s Peeves! Skurge him 4 or 5 times and he’ll run off. The door to the next room has also opened. Look through one of the three windows in Peeves’ room and notice 3 green Ectoplasms on the opposite wall. Pass the door to the Dragon statue and Cast Alohomora. A cut scene shows how a panel in Peeves’ room slides down and how another panel above a ledge slides up in the other room. Go in there and cast Skurge on each of the green blubbers so you may proceed along the narrow ledge. Capture the Beans and… Star #3. When you take that Star a door to your left slides open. You’re back in the passage with a Crab. Quickly turn left and run down the stairs to Peeves’ room. Outside there is A Save Book near the Dragon Statue. [3.6] Leave this section for a next room. Cast Flipendo on a beam. It will rotate through 180° and barricade the access to a Challenge Star. Casting Flipendo won’t help… Cast Flipendo twice on the Wizard Statue and get more Beans. Then, cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and a secret entrance will light up. Descend the stairs, grab a couple of Beans and cast Flipendo on the bottle on the floor. You’ll get a Wiggentree Bark in return. Cast a spell on the Flipendo sign and the beam will turn to its original position. You’ll be entering a low room with a Choc Frog and some Beans. Cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm and unveil an exit. Proceed till the chest, cast Alohomora and take the bronze Wizard Card # 53: Greta Catchlove, 1960-present Author. Run up the stairs, grab a purple Bean and turn left. Take the orange Bean, turn left and stun the Crab. A door opens: watch the Crab in there. You’re back in the room full of Ectos! Run straight to Challenge Star #4. Turn left and smash the chest for the bronze Card # 66: Flavius Belby, 1715-1792 Only wizard. Go down the stairs to a Save Book. [3.7] Eat the Frog if you’re hungry. You’ll hear some funny voices now. Skurge the Ectoplasm to your left to unveil a Snail plate. Stun the Giant Snail with Rictusempra and shuffle it onto the plate with lots of Flipendo. That will open a secret door in the passage. Cast Alohomora on the chest inside and earn the silver Wizard Card # 14: Fulbert the Fearful, 1014-1097 Famous. Flip that cauldron. Turn toward the room on your left and notice two Ectoplasms on the floor, a Snail and a sealed exit door in front of a Challenge Star. Cast Skurge on both Ectoplasms and look up to the ceiling. Cast Alohomora on the trap-door. A Snail drops onto the platform that will lower by its weight and partly open the exit door. With some luck the other Snail will drop in as well. Look through the windows in the other room and shoot a Flobberworm Mucous out of the bottle on the ledge. Return and jump on the other platform. You will ride down and now the door to your 5th Star is completely opened – at least for a while. Run out of the pit to the other room, grab some Beans and the Flobber Muke and head for your 5th Star. Open the chest for a couple of Beans. Go down the stairs and flip the cauldron. Ignore the Gargoyle for now. In the blue Hall you’ll make acquaintance with a Cornish Pixie. Troublesome and annoying creatures, they are. If they touch you, they will bite, so try avoid them. Rictusempra will stun them. Now be careful here, because this is where you may easily miss the 6th Star. DO NOT follow Nick and certainly don’t shoot the Ectoplasm down there. If you do, the ledge will lower down with Harry and you can’t go up again. Cast Alohomora on the wall fresco but don’t enter the new room yet. Return to the Gargoyle but first cast Alohomora thrice on the small chest on the table and earn some tasty Beans. Now cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. That will temporarily light up a hole in the floor of the room you’ve just opened in the blue Hall. Go inside, take all the Beans and jump down to Star # 6 and some more Beans. Jump below and stun 2 Crabs. Quickly cast Alohomora twice on a small chest on the floor. Catch the brown Frog. Cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm above the grilled door, remember? That’s the one I warned you about when you just stood upstairs. The door will open, get inside and seize Star #7. Run and jump to the ledge with the Ecto and Skurge it. The two ledges will start moving now. Make a tricky well-timed jump to the other ledge and cast Flipendo on the opposite sign. When you do this, you'll see a secret passage being opened BEHIND YOU!!! So, turn around and jump from the moving ledges. Turn to the right and enter the room to find the silver Wizard card # 59: Gregory the Smarmy Medieval, dates inknown. If you miss the jump you’ll have to start all over at [3.7]. Jump to the ledge with the cauldron and cast a flipping Spell on it. Walk up to your right and open a chest. Stun the Pixie that flies in. Enter a strange looking room with a Star on top of a ledge and a sort of balance in the center. Flip the cauldron. Look up to the ceiling and cast Skurge on a Green slime. Go in the other room and flip the cauldron. Proceed upward, pick up some beans and flip the cauldron before entering the top room. Take the Star, and throw 2 Gnomes in the hole in the small room with a chest that you should break. It contains the bronze Wizard Card # 84: Roland Kegg, 1903-present President. Cast Flipendo 3 x on the block with the sign on it and it will fall through the hole onto one half of the balance. First flip 2 cauldrons in the top room, cast Alohomora thrice on a small chest and Flipendo on a red bottle. Gather some Beans. Jump into the hole after the block, ascend the balance and catch the 9th Star. Take the beans and also those in the chest. Watch out for the Snail. Now cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. Run down the ramp and jump on the lit ledge. Look up and cast Alohomora on a spot near the ceiling. A secret door will open to a ledge with Star #10. Jump, take your Star and turn left where a door just slid open. Turn left and jump down. You may wish to open the chest: it will let Peeves escape. So… you better don’t. Hit the Completion Star to finish Skurge Challenge with your personal high score. You may always return here and improve your score. It’s the door next to the statue. Your next objective: follow some chap to the House Point Ceremony. The Second House Point Ceremony [3.8] Now before following this chap to the House Point Ceremony room turn left of the Statue, go up the stairs and follow the corridor till the next stairs that are going down. Look at the wall on your left side and notice a discolored part in the wall. Cast Alohomora on that part and a Secret Room will open. Cast Skurge on the two Ectoplasms that are blocking your way up, and climb the ledges. Pick up some Beans. Inside cast Alohomora on the chest and Harry will retrieve his silver Wizard Card #99: Daisy Dodderidge, 1467-1555, First Landlady. Go out of this room, turn left three times and this chap will meet Harry again. Follow him to the House Point Ceremony Room. Before entering turn left in the antechamber and open that secret entrance once again. Skurge the Ectoplasm this time. Pooh…there’s a spider’s net underneath. I think we’ll have to wait for some later Spell… Take the Beans anyway. Now go and grab as many Beans as you can in the second House Point Ceremony. This time you may also open some Ectoplasm doors and find more Beans… Harry, Ron and Hermione are making Secret Plans After that our friends will meet again in the Hall of Floating Stairs. Hermione: Harry! I want to investigate the scene of the crime. Filch usually guards the hallway where his cat was petrified. But he’s away… so now is our chance! They all proceed to the second floor: Do you really think there’s a Chamber of Secrets? Harry: Remember all the water that was on the floor? Where had it come from? From in there, says Hermione. Let’s have a look. Ron: I can’t go in there. That’s a girls’ bathroom! It is actually Moaning Myrtle’s Place. She haunts one of the bathrooms. It’s been out-of-order all year because she keeps having tantrums and flooding the place. Who can the Heir of Slytherin be though? Who’d want to frighten all the non-magical folk out of Hogwarts? Ron: Draco Malfoy! You heard him call Hermione a Mudblood. But how do we prove it’s him? Hermione: We’d need to sneak inside the Slytherin Common and ask Malfoy a few questions without him realizing it’s us. All they would need is some Polyjuice Potion. It transforms one into somebody else. Hermione: We could change Harry into a Slytherin. No one would realize it was really Harry! Two of the potion ingredients are a bit tricky, though: powdered Bicorn Horn and shredded Boomslang Skin. And where to find those? YES! There is some Bicorn Horn in the Snape’s storage room! Hermione is not sure about the shredded Boomslang Skin. Perhaps checking at the Library? But first go save somewhere. Go out of this Dungeon entrance and up to the Monumental staircase. Go all the way right to the Gryffindor Dormitory. Pass the portrait of the Pink Lady and go in. Open the chest and grab a Bean. Then, save by the Book at the fireplace. Well then, let's go to... level 4! Level 4: The Dungeons The four Corridors [4.1] Return to the Dungeon Entrance: that is, descend the Monumental staircase and enter on your right. You’re standing in the main Dungeon corridor, and you recall that four areas are accessible in here. Harry needs to go through the last Dungeon corridor at the left blocked with Ectoplasm to find some powdered Bicorn Horn. You have time for some extra exploration of the corridors, so let’s do that first. Go inside the first corridor at the left and to your left in the antechamber a boy (Flobberworm Mucous) and a girl (Wiggentree Bark) would like to trade with Harry. Accept or recall. However we’ll stumble upon sufficient of that stuff further in this level. Next you’ll be entering the Potions classroom with Prof. Snape walking around in there. Cast Alohomora the “S” sign on the wall left of the entrance. Skurge the Ectoplasm and grab the Beans. Step on a Switch that was trapped by the blob and watch 3 blocks lifting up nearby. Climb the blocks like a giant staircase, starting to your right from the lowest block and jump inside through the opened window. Take the Beans and open the chest for your 10th silver Wizard Card # 60: Laverne de Montmorency, 1823-1893 Inventor. Go down and explore the classroom a little further. Go see the chest in the corner that you were not allowed to approach last visit. Cast Alohomora for the bronze Wizard Card # 9: Gunhilda of Gorsernoor, 1556-1639 one-eyed-hump-backed Witch. There is a door in the other corner that is sealed. Would this be the room where Snipe keeps the Bicorn Horn? In the dungeons again? I wouldn’t be surprised if you became hopelessly lost, says Snipe. Notice the bottles on the table and leave here. Enter the first corridor to the right. Cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm and Lumos on the entrapped Gargoyle. That will unveil a rope in a corner cabinet. Hmmm…it seems like Harry will need a future Spell for cutting the rope. Remember that rope in this room. Explore the last corridor to the right. The door upstairs is sealed. Now enter the last corridor to the left and upstairs cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm blocking the entrance door. Trapped inside [4.2] Enter a dark room with a locked door and behind your back the entrance door seals off. Harry is trapped inside the Dungeons and is going to spend quite some time in here. Take the Beans on both sides of the door. Cast Alohomora and enter the corridor with cell windows. Watch the spiders, you can step on them and squeeze them. If not, they might climb your back. Approach and look in the high octagonal room. There's a tall beam in the middle above a pool of greenish substance. Notice two Flipendo spirals on the wall? Cast a Spell on each of them and the beam will be twisting up and down. Jump on the platform on top of the beam and ride up to the Ectoplasm above you. Cast Skurge on the blob and jump into the hole that is rendered accessible. The two chests in the corners each contain a Chocolate Frog. Ride the beam downward and jump to the middle window. Inside is a cauldron to flip aside for BB Beans. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and watch a cut scene on the gaps between the stairs in the lower passage. Ride the beam one floor lower and jump to the stairway. Immediately stun the Cornish Pixie with Rictusempra. Easy on those gaps in between. Cast Skurge on each of the four blobs, and carefully jump from spot to spot. Enter an antechamber and grab some Beans. Giant Snails and Fire Crabs You’ll arrive at the next octagonal room. Skurge the Ectoplasm higher up that is sealing off a Gargoyle face and fill up the pool below Harry. Follow left and don’t miss the chest in a dark niche. It contains the bronze Wizard card # 6: Glanmore Peakes, 1677-1761 Famous Slayer. Turn around and cast Alohomora on the wall sign. That will open a small reddish room with a chest. This chest contains the silver Wizard card # 42: Crispin Cronk, 1795-1872 Sent to Azkaban. Proceed following left and arrive at a large room with two Giant Orange Snails. They each must be thrown on the front plate. That will allow two Fire Crabs appearing on the second plate that comes up. Each of these Crabs must be pushed inside one of two smaller rooms with a Crab sign. Explore each room first. You’ll find Beans and a bottle with Wiggentree Bark. Cast Flipendo on the bottle and catch the Bark. Now stun each Crab with Rictusempra and push it with Flipendo into one of the rooms. Once the Crab is thrown inside a grilled door will close, thus trapping the Crab. When both Crabs are locked up the exit out of this area is assured. Flip the cauldron in the corner and go to the next area where you'll stun two Pixies first. To your right Skurge a first blubber that blocks the ledge. Walk down the stairway. Skurge the second Ectoblob next to the purple Bean. Follow the ledge that is released. The third Ecto is by the green Bean under a cauldron on a higher ledge. Return to the previous room and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. Come back and turn left, and jump to the charmed ledge. Follow all the way around and enter another room with two Giant Oranges ones. Just like in a previous area there are two smaller rooms: with Snail signs inside. First go in there for Beans and a Chocolate Frog. Flip each Snail inside a room. Once both Snails are jailed the exit door will open. Cast Alohomora on a chest for the bronze Wizard card # 2: Cornelius Agrippa, 1486-1535 Celebrated wizard, then enter the next area. Promptly cast Flipendo on the Gnome and throw him in the hole next to the chest. Cast Alohomora on it for more Beans. Turn around and notice the hard to see sign on the wall. Alohomora. Go inside and cast Alohomora on the chest to reveal the silver Wizard card # 55: Honoria Nutcombe 1665-1743 Founded the society. Exit the cave. Now you can finally save… The Labyrinth of Colored Doors [4.3] You then arrive at your third octagonal room, this time in blue. Skurge the blob that releases a staircase going down. Turn right, take some Beans and enter a balcony room with a Giant Snail. Stun it and throw it into the deep down below. First pick up some Beans in the corners of the balcony and don’t open the chest ‘cause Peeves is in there! Notice 4 Flipendo spirals on differently colored beams up in front of you. From left till right: green, purple, blue and red. Look down from the balcony and you’ll see a kind of labyrinth of colored doors matching with the colors on the Flipendo signs. Notice a stunning red tile in the left corner’s niche down at the end. Above the niche is a sign on the wall, looking like a Roman number III. Two more of these signs are visible, apparently indicating two more such niches. The red carpet leads to the exit out of the labyrinth to your right. We’ll have to clear the carpet by switching a number of doors. Casting Flipendo on one of the colored signs will shift the matching doors below. First shift the red doors with a spell of Flipendo on the red sign. There are two elevators. One is going up, the other down. Go down and quickly stun and throw the Gnome in the hole. Run and jump over the void to entrance #3 (the only one that is accessible for now). Turn behind the corner past a blue door and you’ll spot the niche with a green tile. Cast Alohomora on the tile and open a small green room with a chest inside. The chest contains some BB Beans and a bottle with Flobberworm Mucous. Cast Flipendo on the bottle to break it and grab the Mucous. Proceed to the other wall and find the room with a blue tile. The chest in the blue room contains Beans and two pots: more Flobber Muke and some Wiggentree Bark. Break the bottles and get out the stuff. Return, cross the gap and take the elevator riding up to the balcony. From here you can see how the third niche in the corner with the red tile is blocked by a green and a purple door. Now cast Flipendo on the green sign. You can now see from above of how to reach the red room. Go down and cross over to entrance #1, and head for the red room. The chest contains a pot of Wiggentree Bark and more Beans. Now all we have to do is find the way to the exit. Return upstairs and hit the red and the purple signs with Flipendo, that will clear the path along the carpet. Jump to entrance #1, run along the red carpet and leave this room. You will then arrive at a room with bottles and chests. Turn left past the stairs going down and jump on the chest. From there you can catch the Beans on the shelves next to a pot of Wiggentree Bark. You can’t open the chest, at least not this kind of chest. In the alcove next to the ladder find the bronze Wizard Card # 46: Miranda Goshhawk, 1921-present Famous spellbook writer in a chest that does open up with Alohomora Spell. Cast Flipendo on a small wall sign to free the way out of here. Jump on a small table and catch a couple of BB. Beans. Push the block toward the wall cabinet, jump on it, take 4 Beans and the bottle with Flobber Muke. Leave the Room and flip a cauldron to your right and get the Beans. Now you’ll be entering an orange octagonal room. Quickly take care of a sneaky Fire Crab in ambush. Cast Rictusempra on the bugger and then throw it down in the goo. Follow the stairs to a Bean and a Save Book. Octagonal Rooms and Ectoplasms [4.4] Skurge the Ectoplasm, enter and cast Rictusempra on the Pixie. This is the red octagonal room. Skurge the Blob and a sort of cog mill will start turning. Jump on the revolving platform on the beam in the middle and exit to the blue octagonal room. Pick up an orange Bean. Jump on a similar beam platform and Skurge the two blobs. Take a green Bean and jump to a green octagonal room. Jump on the platform and on to the red room. Grab the blue Bean. Skurge two blobs and jump out. Flip the cauldron and now go save again. [4.5] There is another door with a lock and you can hear a Gnome grunting from behind. The Gnome is sitting by a chest to your right. Stun him and carry him to the next room. There is a hole in the left wall (watch out for a Fire Crab on the ledge). Quickly throw the Gnome in the hole and turn around. Cast Rictusempra on the Crab and jump to the ledge. Flip it into the hole under the Ectoplasm. Go down, return to the chest where you stunned the Gnome and open it. Get your 20th bronze Wizard Card # 4: Grogan Stump, 1770-1884 Popular Minister and earn a third Health arrow. Proceed to the room with the Gnome hole and flip the cauldron for some Beans. Climb the ledge again and Skurge the blob above the Crab hole so you may jump on the ledge. Climb a second ledge and turn around. Skurge two blobs up there and climb to the top ledge with the Gnome and the hole. You know what to do. Before Skurgeing the blob look at the other side to a second top ledge. You’ll be going there soon. Now Skurge the blob and blow 4 Pixies out of the air in the opened cave. This is a cave with floating ledges. Skurge the blob to your left and return to the second top ledge in the previous room. Eat the Chocolate Frog and cast Flipendo on the big block. The block will move aside and open a room. Meet a Gargoyle in there and cast Lumos on him. Watch how a secret room in the cave is then unveiled. Return to the cave and enter this room from your left (the Ectoplasm was blocking your way). Open the chest in the room for some Beans. Skurge the second blob and walk towards the locked door. Thus you have avoided some tricky jumping to floating ledges. Cast Alohomora and enter another room with pots and pills. Be prepared for a nasty trap in there! The Bicorn Horn Take all the Beans from the shelves to your left and open a bottle containing Flobberworm Mucous. Grab more Beans on the next shelves and turn around the corner. You’ll suddenly drop down through a trap-door and end up in a cave with two fire Crabs sitting on blocks above some acid looking green substance. Cast Rictusempra on the Crabs and then Flipendo to get them into the goo. Skurge all 4 Ectoplasms and jump from block to block to the opposite side. Climb all the way out into a second storage room. First go left and take 4 Beans. Take the Bicorn Horn from the shelve in the cabinet. In a fast cinematic Harry returns to the Potions classroom. [4.6] Go to the large table with all the bottles and if you didn’t take them last time, cast Flipendo on the bottles with Flobberworm Muke and Wiggentree Bark. Don’t pay any attention to Prof. Snipe, he’ll keep saying nasty things to Harry. You’ve got one Wiggenweld Potion and six Mukes and Barks for making six more Potions. It’s time for practicing Snipe’s lesson! Turn towards the smoking cauldron and your 6 new potions will be automatically concocted. Leave the classroom for the main corridor and Harry runs into Hermione. Hi, I found some Bicorn Horn to add to the potion! Now Harry means for the Polyjuice Potion, remember? Hermione: Great, I’m still trying to find the location of the next ingredient, but I should have it tracked down soon. She runs off and goes adding this to the Potion. Then Ron arrives: They’re starting a Dueling Club and the first meeting is today! Come to the Great Hall if you want to learn how to duel. Follow Ron to Hogwarts’ majestic entrance Hall but don’t enter the Great Hall yet. Let him wait on you for a while and go up the Grand stairs. Take the way to the Room of Floating Ledges and go left past the door. Ride the first of Floating ledges to the room where Nick explained about the Four Locks. Since you’ve got over 10 silver Wizard Cards, approach the door and watch a first Lock sliding open. Then, go all the way down. You can save your game here by the familiar Save Book under the stairs. Now you’re all set for that duel in… Level 5! Level 5: Diffindo The Duel Club [5.1] Harry has to go see what this dueling is all about. Go up and leave the Hall of Floating Stairs. Go to the Entrance Hall, and down the stairs turn left where Ron is still waiting for Harry. In the Great Hall all students are gathered with Gilderoy Lockhart, who is providing Dueling instructions, and Prof.Snipe, who will be monitoring the Duels. As always, Gilderoy is full of charm: I started Dueling Club to defend yourselves. Dueling Club meets every day in the antechamber just outside the Great Hall. In Wizard Dueling the object of the exercise is to incapacitate your opponent. There are three spells you may use in dueling: - Rictusempra, which knocks your opponent and reduces stamina - Mimblewimble, which prevents your opponent from accurately casting their next spell - Expelliarmus, which reflects spells back onto your opponent To select a spell, scroll through them by using the space bar or the right mouse button. To cast a selected spell on your opponent, press the left mouse button (or: ALT). You may build up the strength of Rictusempra and Mimblewimble by holding the button down. Gilderoy ends: Note that Potion drinking and jumping during duels are prohibited. A pledge of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavored Beans is required to duel. The victor wins the opponent’s Beans! To challenge a student to a Duel, simply walk up to them. If you have enough Beans you will be invited to duel. Harry wants to duel with Ron, but Snipe thinks it’s time to split up the dream team and orders Malfoy of Slytherin to duel with Harry. After the Duel Malfoy casts an exotic Snake Spell on Harry: Serpensrtia!. Everyone is in shock. But Harry commands the snake: Leave me alone!. And Draco Malfoy says: It couldn’t be! Not him! [5.2] Ron, Hermione and Harry run out of the Great Hall. Ron:You’re a Parselmouth, Harry. You can talk to snakes! Hermione: It matters, Harry, because being able to talk to snakes was what Salazar Slytherin was famous for. And now they’re afraid the whole school is going to think Harry’s his great-great-great-grandson or something... Harry lay awake for hours that night, wondering... ...could he be the descendent of Salazar Slytherin? Herbology Class Next morning, Harry meets Ron and Hermione downstairs. Hermione won’t be seeing Harry in Herbology class. I’ll be in Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom working on the Polyjuice Potion! Ron can’t believe Hermione is skipping class. Well, we better get outside to Herbology, Harry. Come on! Harry needs to get to his Herbology class outside in the greenhouse. Follow Ron outside along the alley to the right of the Dragon Statue. There’s a guy trading Flobbermuke. Watch your amount of BB. Beans. You don’t really need it for now. Harry enters a small courtyard with a birch tree and a chest in the corner. Cast Alohomora on it and get some Flavored Beans. The fellow on your left doesn’t trade. Follow Ron in front of the Greenhouse. Before entering turn left and open a chest in the corner of the garden. This contains bronze Wizard Card #5: Gulliver Pokeby, 1750-1839 Expert on magical Birds. Now enter the Greenhouse. Welcome to second year Herbology, everyone! Prof. Sprout is digging right in. By now you already know how this exercise goes. You may earn up to 15 points for Gryffindor. Now let’s move on to the Diffindo Challenge! The Diffindo Challenge [5.3] Welcome, Harry, to my Diffindo Challenge! You know the kind of Challenge Harry’s up to. Harry is starting in a courtyard and the Completion Star can be found in a hallway just above him. Some vines and plant growth can cover doorways and openings. You can use Diffindo to cut through them and clear Harry’s path. You’ll start off with 1,500 seconds and there are 14 Challenge Stars to be captured! It seems to get harder with every Challenge. THE COURTYARD WITH THREE SNAILS. Cast your first Diffindo on the vine blocking the entrance to a chamber. You may as well jump through one of the side windows. In this room you’ll find a chest to your right. Alohomora! Add some Beans to your purse. Follow the corridor inside a room and cast Flipendo on the big flower-pot in the middle of a table right in front you. This pot contains some Beans. Turn around and cast Alohomora on a chest and Flipendo on a cauldron standing a bit farther in the room. They both contain more Beans. Cast Alohomora on the door with a Rose pattern left of the cauldron, and find a chest inside a secret chamber. Cast Alohomora and get some extra Beans. Turn around and look at a door opposite to the chamber. It gives access to a courtyard with three Giant Orange Snails that may attack a lot faster than the ones you’ve met before! The first Snail is “patrolling” under an arcade in front of the door. Wait until it passes by the door (preferably from the right side) and stun it with Rictusempra. Run inside and immediately turn left in the arcade and notice the vine in the corner. Cast Diffindo on the plants and a Snail plate is unveiled. Pick up the Beans around the plate and go stand with your back to the wall. Wait until the Snail approaches and when it notices Harry it will attack and stumble on the plate. That will unlock a first barrier of the exit door in the other arcade. Let the Snail come out away from Harry. Turn left and follow the wall to the corner of the courtyard where you will see two cactuses and a bench. Harry is safe in this corner. Turn around and observe the scene from this position. See that flower-pot and watering-can left in front of Harry? Cast Flipendo on the pot and twice on the can for some Beans. A second Snail patrols along a path around the tree. This one is very aggressive. Where the path meets each arcade two signs on the wall attract attention. Wait until the garden Snail slides away from the corner of the path and approach the corner. If it turns around, it will attack. So quickly cast Rictusempra on its back and stun it – for a while. Come closer to the wall, cast Flipendo on each of these signs and keep an eye on that Snail. You must watch it after each Flipendo. If it wakes up, cast Rictusempra to stun it again. When all four signs are shot, a door to a secret chamber will open. The chest inside contains your silver Wizard Card #70: Leopoldina Smethwyck 1829-1910. Wait coming out of this room until the garden Snail has turned its back on Harry or stun it when it hasn’t. Come out, turn left and run into the second arcade. Cast Rictusempra on the patrolling Snail of this arcade if it is shuffling toward the corner with the vines. Otherwise leave it. Cast Diffindo twice on these vines and take the beans. Once again, stand with your back to the wall and wait on the Snail to attack. When it hits the plate, the exit door will fully unlock. Clean work! Let the Snail come out and stun it with Rictusempra. Take the exit on your left and listen to Prof. Sprout: Diffindo can also cut ropes that will release objects The camera view heads toward a sparkling rope behind a Save Book. Acquire your first Challenge Star and chase the Choc Frog. Go up and pass the Save Book. GARDEN ISLAND [5.4] Cast Diffindo on the rope. A draw-bridge gives access to a small garden with gaps on the sides, a sort of an island. Proceed and turn right, and listen to Prof. Sprout: Horklump Mushrooms can give off a cloud of poisonous gas, Harry. Avoid them, or use Diffindo to cut their stems. So let’s do it by the book of Mrs. Sprout first. Cast Diffindo each of the 7 Horklumps that block the entrance to the island, and walk up to them. Harry picks up a Mushroom head: Once you have separated a Horklump from its stem, you can pick it up and throw it. Throw the head to the two Horklumps further on your right. In a similar way decapitate the three Mushroom on your left. Throw a third Mushroom to the Gnome behind the leaves. He’ll fall into the hole leaving 3 Beans behind. Cast Diffindo on the vines and grab the Beans. Jump down to the corner ledge of the front gap and take the Beans. Down there you’ll notice a room with a chest. Do not open! Peeves is hiding in there! Ascend from the other side and collect the Beans. Now there’s another way to deal with these Mushrooms here that Mrs. Sprout forgot to tell you all about. Of course, why would she? After all she’s got a fine job and a steady income at Hogwarts, now hasn’t she? But Harry can always use some extra Beans, he’ll need them badly later on! So start allover from last Save game and let’s do it now in a more profitable way: [5.4] (bis) Harry is standing on the bridge. Rather than casting Diffindo on the Horklumps turn left (or right) and jump to the corner of the gap. You’ll end up on a high ledge. Collect all Beans while going down. Enter the hidden room but leave the chest alone. Why? It contains Peeves! Ascend from the other side grabbing all Beans on the way up. Now Harry is standing on the island. Cast Diffindo on the vines in front of the Gnome hole and release the Gnome. He will start eating all the Mushrooms turning them into Bertie Bott’s Every Flavored Beans! When he’s finished stun him with Flipendo and throw him where he further belongs: in his hole. Now all the extra Beans are yours! To the opposite side there is a bottomless void. Through the grilled window in the draw-bridge you’ll see a Challenge Star. That bridge has got to lower! On each side of the bridge there is a tall alcove with a sparkling rope. Each rope allows one of the lowered blocks on the island to elevate. Cast Diffindo on each rope and lift a lower and a taller block. (Tip: If you want to save on time go stand on the left platform and cast Diffindo on the left rope from here. You’ll be going up with the block and you won’t need the smaller block to jump from). Jump from block to block to the opposite ledge with the BB. Beans. Collect all the Beans on the narrow ledges and enter the dark room. Cast Diffindo on the rope that lowers the second draw-bridge. Grab two Beans in there and jump down. Cross the bridge and earn your second Challenge Star. THE FIRST CHAPEL Go inside the Chapel and immediately stun a Corrush Pixie. To your left cast Alohomora on the chest for your bronze Wizard Card #12: Merwyn the Malicious, Medieval. Stand in front of the stairs and Stun a second Pixie and the Giant Orange Snail, both with Rictusempra. Walk up the four stairs. Turn right and cast Alohomora thrice on a small chest on the table. Enjoy some Beans. On the opposite side is a bottle with Flobberworm Mucous. Cast Flipendo and grab the Muke. Go up the second staircase and cast Diffindo on two ropes that are attached to a moveable square block with a Flipendo sign on it. Cast Flipendo thrice on the block and a door to a Star slides open behind Harry’s back. Take the Star and follow the corridor. THE OCTAGONAL TOWER On your right you’ll see a table with a watering-can and two flower-pots. Cast Flipendo on the larger pot for a couple of Sweeties. Next to that is an alcove with a tin soldier. Cast Flipendo twice on him for more Beans. Enter the opposite room. Prof. Sprout says: Spiky Prickly Plants shoot their spikes when you get too close. Avoid them or use Diffindo to cut their stems. Cast Diffindo on each of the three SpiPri Plants. Look up and you’ll notice a concrete cross above Harry. In fact this room is a low octagonal open tower. There are two windows in the walls. Cast Flipendo twice on the tall block with the sign on it, and it will move in the direction of a wall with one of the windows. Climb the block and pull up to the window with the green Bean. Cast Diffindo on the rope. A sort of service elevator platform is then activated. Jump on it when it passes. Ride up and jump off upstairs, and cast Diffindo on the vines. Walk over the cross and cast Diffindo on the rope crossing the entire width of the tower. That will open the way out of the Tower. Proceed along the cross to the next vine and cast Diffindo to clear the entrance to a room with a square hole. Take four Beans and jump in. Restore your stamina with a Chocolate Frog. You’re standing in the second window now. Jump down and take the exit to your 4th Challenge Star. Cast Flipendo on the tin man and twice on the water-can, all for more Beans. Walk up to the Save Book and listen to Sprout: Diffindo can be used to cut other things too, Harry. Try it on that Spider Web. SUSPENDED BRIDGES AND FALLING BLOCKS [5.5] Flip the cauldron for some Beans. Cast Diffindo on the spider web and run to the suspended wooden bridge. Turn right and cast Diffindo on the rope that locks the swinging bridge. When the giant swing floats forward cast Diffindo on the opposite spider web and jump to that side. Crush the spiders on the floor and acquire your 5th Challenge Star. Notice a hole in the floor next to a wall fresco with a rose pattern; keep that in mind. Go left and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. This Lumos Spell charms two different walls. Turn right and follow the stairs up to a wooden bridge suspended from one rope, and grab 4 Beans on the way up. Follow the bridge till the end where you’ll see a first wall charmed by Lumos. Go inside the room and grab the 6th Challenge Star. Return to the bridge, cast Diffindo on the rope and the bridge (with Harry) will drop one floor down. Turn away from the Gargoyle and meet your 7th Star. Turn right past a red and a green Bean and step through a second wall charmed by Lumos where you’ll see a chest. Cast Alohomora and acquire bronze Wizard Card #18: Uric the Oddball, Medieval. Go left up the stairs and grab 4 Beans. Turn right and watch a block with a Flipendo sign in a hole similar to the one you saw below. Cast Flipendo on the sign and push the block down. Return downstairs past the transparent wall and cross the bridge on your left.. Turn left of the Gargoyle and watch the block lying in the hole next to the patterned wall. Cast Flipendo on the block and it will trigger a switch that opens the wall. Inside is a chest with a silver Wizard Card; cast Alohomora on it. Get your silver Card #8: Derwent Shimpling, 1912-present. Cross the bridge again and turn left. Cast Flipendo on the cauldron in the corner and get some Beans. Watch the Snail, stun it if necessary. See these three pots on a shelf? Cast Flipendo on the middle one and get a couple of Beans. Stun the Fire Crab behind the corner and notice a crack in the floor inside a shaft. You can almost see through. Perhaps Alohomora? No, that doesn’t help... Skurge the Ectoplasms – the one on the wall and the one obstructing the cube with Flipendo signs on its faces. There’s a Choc Frog behind the block if you need one. Cast Flipendo on the Block and it will move towards the wall. Climb it and jump from the block to the ledge. Grab the blue Bean and immediately stun a Cornush Pixie with Rictusempra. Go up four stairs and Skurge the floor blob. Jump over the gap, grab a colored Bean and turn right. In the shaft you’ll notice a block suspended from a rope. Stand on the block and cast Diffindo on the rope. The block will drop on the cracked floor, tremble for a while, and break through ...with Harry on it! Turn around and behold your 8th Challenge Star. Turn left and cast Rictusempra on two Cornush Pixies in a row. Run and jump over the three ledges. When you land on the first ledge they all start slowly sliding in and out the walls. On the opposite side, flip the cauldron for a blue Bean and save by the Book. THE CHAPEL GARDENS (1): HORKLUMPS AND GNOMES [5.6] Look inside past a row of Horklump Mushrooms by the entrance to a garden. See the vines obstructing Gnome holes in the side walls? Don’t waste Diffindo on any of the good Mushrooms, they’re Colored Beans in another shape, remember? Run and jump over the barrier of Horklumps, a little damage won’t hurt. There’s a Choc Frog inside the garden anyway. Cast Diffindo on all three of the vines in front of the Gnome holes and let the Gnomes take care of the Mushrooms while you’re nicely watching. Meantime crush these nasty spiders that keep climbing Harry’s back all the time. Each Gnome can only eat a limited amount of Mushrooms. Sometimes you may push a bit though. Stun one of the Gnomes and throw him to the row of Mushrooms you want him to devour. When all Mushroom are gone, cast Flipendo on each Gnome and throw them into their holes. Now you’ve got plenty of Beans to harvest and no scratch at all! Jump on the ledge and go down to the garden of Tentaculas. THE CHAPEL GARDENS (2): TENTACULAS That is a Venemous Tentacula. Don’t let them get near you, their bite is very nasty! Diffindo can be used to both stun the creature and sever its arms. Stun the First Tentacula with Diffindo and quickly pass it. Sever the arms of the next two permanently. Aim carefully at the arms and cast Rictusempra. There’s another Choc Frog near the birch on your right should Harry need one. Go left to the corner and open a chest with Alohomora for more Beans. You’ll hear some strange grunting coming from upstairs, while branches are being thrown at Harry. Ignore all that for now, it’ll soon be explained of what to do. Sever an arm of the Tentacula guarding the staircase, go up and take your 9th Challenge Star. Turn right, run and jump to the opposite ledge. Bowtruckles are tree Spirits that guard Wiggentrees. Cast Diffindo on them to make them disappear, says Prof. Sprout. Each Spirit will leave a Wiggentree Bark behind. Always look for it. Get rid of two Bowtruckles with Diffindo. Watch out for these Spirits. When Harry is aiming Diffindo and a projectile hits him before the Spell has affected, he will loose the Charm and get hurt. Search the Wiggentree area for Bark left behind by each of the Bowtruckles and look up to a bright sign on the wall. Cast Alohomora on the sign and the panel swings open. But how to get all that high? Look at the suspended plank on your right. Cast Diffindo on the first rope (on your right) and turn the plank into a footbridge: a ramp leading upwards to the narrow ledge on the wall. Run and jump again to the overgrown catwalk…oops, that won’t work in the opposite direction. Follow the stairs again, run up on the footbridge and climb the narrow edge on the wall. Grab a Bean and run inside the opening you’ve just created in the wall. The first thing you’ll see is a shelf with two pots and a watering-can. Cast Flipendo on the middle pot for Beans. Proceed left and take a blue Bean from the floor. Cast Flipendo on the larger pot on the shelf for more Beans. Turn around, grab the yellow Bean an cast Flipendo on the bottle with Flobberworm Mucous. Grab the Muke, turn around and follow the track with Beans to your next Star. Take your 10th Challenge Star and cast Alohomora on the chest behind it. Acquire your silver Wizard Card #85: Blenheim Stalk, 1920-present. You are in a Hallway looking down on the previous garden. Take some time for that. Return to the ledge and turn right, grab a purple Bean and jump down. You’ll end in a corner with a flower-pot and a watering-can. Cast Flipendo on the pot and twice on the can for more Beans. Cast Diffindo on each of the ropes from which the next footbridge is suspended and it will drop down and connect the ledge and the next overgrown catwalk. At the end of the catwalk turn right and climb the ledge. Ignore the watering- can in the corner for now and climb the higher section with the two Bowtruckles and the Wiggentree. Cast Diffindo on each of the Spirits and grab their Bark. Look down from the corner into a third garden with Giant Orange Snails and SpiPri Plants. Go down to the corner and cast Flipendo twice on the watering-can for extra Beans. Should Harry have lost some of his stamina and you haven’t eaten all two Chocolate Frogs below, you may prefer to go down again and eat them before saving by the book. THE CHAPEL GARDENS (3): SPIKES AND SNAILS [5.7] From up the stairs look down at some plant growth on a Snail plate and cast Diffindo on it. Stand left of the plate and wait on the attack of the Snail. It will push itself on the plate and you’ll see a first barrier of the Chapel door unlock. Cast Rictusempra on the Snail, that’ll keep it dizzy for a while and proceed to the next corner. Stun the second Snail somewhere along this lane and stay close to the wall in order to avoid some prickling spikes that the SpiPri plants would launch. If the third Snail is far enough from the next corner cast Flipendo on the bottle on the floor and get some Flobberworm Mucous out of it. Then run to the Snail and stun it with Rictusempra. Promptly proceed past the second overgrown Snail plate and jump to the dividing wall for a change. You’ll get some nice view. Should the Snail be near the corner cast Rictusempra on it and then get the Muke out of the bottle. Proceed and jump to the wall behind the second Snail plate. From your position on the wall cast Diffindo on the plants above the plate. Let the third Snail approach. As soon as the Snail notices Harry it will try to attack and step on the plate of its own, just like always. The door to the Garden House is now entirely open. Let the Snail slide away and jump down. Watch the Garden Snail. Turn around the corner and cast Diffindo on the SpiPri Plant and run inside to your right. The door seals off behind Harry. LEAVING THE CHAPEL Immediately look up at the ceiling and cast Alomohora on a bright sign. That opens the ceiling and unveils a suspended platform with a Challenge Star. Cast Diffindo on the rope that holds the platform and it will drop to the block below, together with the Star. Jump on the block and seize your 11th Challenge Star. Jump down and descend on the left side of the stairs. Grab a Bean and cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm. Cast Diffindo on the branches and enter. A Bowtruckle is locked up between three doors of branches. Cast Diffindo on a second set of branches and wait until you see the Bowtruckle and cast Diffindo on him. Take his Wiggentree Bark and turn right where you’ll be blocked by another door of branches. Cast Diffindo and proceed. Cast Diffindo on the spider web and crush the spiders. Turn left and cast Diffindo on a second web to clear the staircase going up. Take a purple and a red Bean and cast Diffindo on a third web. Take a Yellow Bean, crush the spiders and turn right where you’ll see an open door to a Challenge Star. Go inside and take the 12th Star. Cast Flipendo on the cauldron for more Sweets and return all the way down to the chapel. On the other side of the stairs go down to a Gargoyle and grab the Bean in front of him. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and quickly run all the way up. See anything? Me neither, so apparently that Gargoyle merely brightens Harry’s path. Upstairs turn left and cast Diffindo on each rope that blocks a mechanism. Now two ledges will combine to a bridge above the pit. Continue till the rose pattern. Cast Alohomora and a chamber is unveiled. Cast Skurge on two blobs on the floor. Jump all the way down and open the chest with Alohomora. Collect your bronze Wizard Card #49: Elladora Ketteridge, 1656-1729. Turn around and cast Skurge on a last Ectoplasm. Climb up and turn left. You’ll be entering a small garden with 3 Tentaculas. Sever all their arms with Diffendo and grab the Beans. Go out and find Challenge Star #13. Cast Flipendo on the cauldron for some Beans, turn around and crush the spiders that arrive. Cast Alohomora on the rose pattern next to the spider web and a corridor with another spider web opens. Cast Diffindo on that web. On your left is a chest. Alohomora! Obtain bronze Wizard Card #21: Lord Stoddard Withers, 1672-1769. Go outside and cast Diffindo on the web. Go down the stairs. There isn’t any Bean in the pots and watering-can on the shelves, so cast Diffindo on the spider web. Go further down and grab a Yellow Bean and eat the Choc Frog. You’ll probably need it. The bigger pot on your right contains some Beans. Cut the web with Diffindo and crush the spiders. Turn right and flip the cauldron for a purple Bean, then save. THE FINAL HALLWAY [5.8] Stun the Snail with Rictusempra and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. That will cast a spell on a part of the wall opposite to the entrance and some ledges above the Courtyard with three Snails. Cast Flipendo on the pot for Beans and eat the Choc Frog. Cross the ledges while picking up some Beans and go inside. Here you find the last and 14th Challenge Star. Then a door closes inside and A Snail appears out of the blue. Stun and push it into the hole. The door slides up again. Turn right and take the Bean. On your left there is an “S” lightning sign in the wall. Cast Alohomora. The are four Beans on the floor and a Snail plate. Go out of this room and proceed till a door closes and 3 Snails appear out of nowhere. Two Snails are near a Snail hole with a pattern of two Snails it. Push them inside and a new area opens. Wait for the third Snail to approach the “S” room and cast Rictusempra. Then cast several Flipendo to push it on the plate inside the room and a secret wall opens behind it. Inside is a chest. Cast Alohomora and acquire silver Wizard Card #87: Thaddeus Turkell, 1632-1692. Leave and proceed till the corner with the purple Bean. In the next passage there is a bench with 3 pots. The middle pot contains Beans. Pass the door on your left with the final Challenge Star to another bench with a pot and a can. Cast Flipendo on the pot for Beans and take the Frog. Enter the Hallway with the final Star and open the chest on the right with Alohomora for obtaining a last bunch of Beans. On your left cast Flipendo on a bottle with Flobberworm Mucous. Now take the final Challenge Star. Congratulations, you’ve completed the Diffindo Challenge. You may always come back here and improve your score. If you do, all Horklump Mushrooms will have fully grown again, so you will get more Beans out of them. Also the 5 Bowtruckles near the Garden Chapel will have risen each carrying more Wiggentree Bark. Play it again and improve your score! It’ll render Harry rich and immortal! Let's head for... level 6! Level 6: The Gardens Castle Area [6.1] Harry is standing outside the entrance to the Diffindo Challenge. If you ever like to enter again for improving your score, cast... Diffindo on the vine that blocks the door and enter. Further on your left there’s a staircase going up and opposite to the entrance there is an “S” sign of a lightning on the wall. Cast Alohomora on that sign. Next, cast Diffindo on the branches and enter a room with four Beans and a chest on the floor, all guarded by a Gargoyle. Take the Beans and cast Alohomora on the chest. It will give you the bronze Wizard Card #77: Norvel Twonk, 1888-1957. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and outside the room run up the stairs. Harry will meet Ron: Harry! Hermione told me that you can find the shredded Boomslang Skin out in the greenhouse. Follow Ron but don’t turn right in the direction of the Dragon statue. Instead go straight to the next bordering wall where a trading girl is tossing a Bean and another girl is playing between two trees. Light the wall between the trees: part of it will be charmed by the Lumos Spell – if Harry’s wand is still lit, that is. Follow to where Ron is pointing at, the wall is charmed by Lumos. Go up the stairs to the second floor and collect all Beans. Cast Alohomora on the chest and earn your silver Wizard Card #27: Mirabella Plunkett, 1839-unknown. On the other side of the staircase you’ll notice a large gray tile on the floor. Jump on it and it will lower, thus opening a secret alcove high up in the castle wall. You will see a silver Wizard Card in there. Remember that Card for later on. Go down and turn left. Go all the way to the opposite wall where a girl would like to trade your Beans for Wiggentree Bark. We certainly don’t need that. Cast Alohomora on the bright sign on the wall. Enter the garden and cast Diffindo on the vine to the left of the tree. Enter a second garden, pick up all the BB Beans on the grass and cast Alohomora on the chest for an extra load of such Beans. Leave these two gardens for once and for all and follow Ron to the Dragon statue. Left of the statue you’ll see two guys who want to trade; approach them. They each sell valuable items for the Quidditch tournament. The left one has a Nimbus 2001 Broom for trade at 700 BB Beans: the best model available to the general public. The other one has Quidditch Armor at 500 BB Beans: just like the Chudley Cannons wear. You own enough Beans for the Broom, so you may consider a trade. Notice two brightly colored Banners featuring a letter “H” on each tower of the Quidditch entrance. Go to the entrance and cast Alohomora on each Banner. That will reveal a Secret Room on your left side between two trees. The room contains 5 BB Beans and a chest. Cast Alohomora on the chest and capture the silver Wizard Card #36: Joscelind Wadcock, 1911-present. You may try out your brand new Broom or Armor on the spot. Why not go inside for a game of Quidditch? After this, follow Ron, and when you arrive at the first small garden with the birch tree turn around and look up above the entrance door. Cast Flipendo on a tile high above the door. A door next to the trader guy will now open giving access to a Secret Area. Go inside and grab all Beans on the grass. Cast Diffindo on the vines that block a Gnome hole and release the Gnome. He will take care of the Horklumps Mushrooms. When all Mushrooms are dealt with, stun the gnome with a Flipendo Spell, pick him up and throw him back into his hole. Collect all the Beans. Now cast Alohomora on the chest and you’ll obtain the silver Wizard Card #43: Cyprian Youdle, 1312-1357, Quidditch Referee. Go out and follow Ron to Herbology class. Go all around the greenhouse classroom and pick up the Beans. Enter, go to the smoky cauldron and brew some Wiggenweld Potions. Go out to the backyard and release a Gnome by casting Diffindo on the vine that blocks his hole. He’ll eat the Horklumps Mushrooms in front of the hole. Cast Flipendo on him, pick him up and carry him to the next row of Mushrooms to your right. When he’s finished with the Horklumps, stun him with Flipendo and throw him in front of the hole. Cast Flipendo and he’ll tumble in, leaving some extra Beans behind. Harvest all Beans. While Ron is waiting by an entrance overgrown with plants, go to the other side of the backyard and cast Alohomora on a chest, next to a second entrance overgrown with plants. You’ll obtain more Colored Beans. Cast Diffindo on the vine and enter a Secret Room with 4 Beans and a Chest. Charm the chest with Alohomora: it will open and offer Harry the bronze Wizard Card #33: Beaumont Marjoribanks, 1742-1845. Now go and meet Ron: The greenhouse is right inside that door, Harry. I’ll watch out for Professor Sprout, good luck. Cast Diffindo on the vine and pass through the door to a dark corridor. A Revolving Bridge [6.2] Cast Diffindo on the branches and enter a new garden with a walking Tentacula. Watch out for these guys. They’ll keep chasing Harry. Sever both arms of the Tentacula. That’s the only way to prevent them from moving any further. Go further and stun the standing Tentacula. Another walking one arrives. Get rid of its arms too. There is an overgrown Gnome hole in the corner and a number of Horklumps are distributed around the corner. Open the hole with a Diffendo Spell and let the Gnome take care of the Mushrooms. Do not throw the Gnome in here but stun him with Flipendo and capture all the Beans. Sever the arms of the next Tentacula. Cast Diffindo on three SpiPri Plants in the elevated lawn in the other corner, then go stun and pick up the Gnome. Carry him to this lawn, jump-and-throw him into the Horklump Mushrooms and let him deal with them. After all Horklumps are turned in to BB Beans, stun and throw the Gnome in the open hole, seize the Beans and eat the Chocolate Frog. Look under the bridge from here. There is another entrance blocked by plant growth and there are two more SpiPri plants. Cast Diffindo on each of them. Now cast Diffindo on the plants and enter. Cast Flipendo on the flower-pot in the corner for some Beans. Turn around the corner and quickly cast Rictusempra on a Fire Crab in ambush and ready to fire from the top of the stairs. Go up the stairs and turn left. Cast Rictusempra on the second Crab on top of the next stairs and ascend. Harry will enter the wooden bridge now. Observe the garden from here. There are 4 entrances and two of them are connected by the isosceles L-shaped bridge. In the opposite doorway a Save Book is visible… Turn left and jump to a lawn in the corner. Collect the Beans. Climb up again and follow the bridge inside. Cast Diffindo on each of the ropes that block a mechanism and the L-shaped bridge will rotate through an angle of 90°. Jump out, down in the garden and follow the stairs up again. Watch the fire Crabs. This time the bridge is connecting two doors of another quadrant. Go in. There is second mechanism blocked by two ropes. Cast Diffindo on each rope and the bridge will rotate once again. Before leaving here cast Flipendo on a tile in the floor. A secret room is then unveiled on your right. Take the four Beans from the floor and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle inside. Run outside, follow the new position of the bridge, past the Save Book and see the charmed wall on your right. Go in and cast Alohomora on the chest. Seize the silver Wizard Card #90: Sacharissa Tugwood, 1874-1966. Save your game. The Greenhouse [6.3] Cast Diffindo on the vines that block the entrance to the greenhouse garden. Promptly cast Diffindo on two SpiPri Plants. There is a Chocolate Frog should Harry need one. Cast Flipendo twice on a watering-can by the greenhouse corner for a load of Beans. You’ll hear the nasty sound of Bowtruckles coming from the Wiggentree above. Turn around the corner and sever both arms of a walking Tentacula. Cast Diffindo on 4 Horklumps Mushroom and sever arms of the walking Tentacula behind them. Turn around the next corner and cast Flipendo on each of two flower-pots on the ground for gathering some Beans. Cast Diffindo on two SpiPri Plants next to an overgrown entrance. Clear the entrance with Diffindo and go inside. Get rid of a spider web with Diffindo and a giant spider will stand in front of Harry. This is a particularly nasty variety of spider. Their bites are extremely poisonous, so stay away and cast Rictusempra to stun them. Go up the stairs and destroy a second web. Quickly stun the spider around the corner with Rictusempra. Follow the next stairs with a web and a spider. Harry arrives at the ledge with the Wiggentree and some Bowtruckles. Make the tree Spirits disappear with Diffindo and grab the Wiggentree Bark they left behind. There is a Choc Frog in the corner. Go further left and notice a Switch on the floor. Take a Bean and proceed to the next Wiggentree in the corner with two Bowtruckles. Make them vanish with your Diffindo Charm. Take two more pieces of Bark and proceed till the end of the ledge. Grab 4 Beans and cast Flipendo on the flower-pot in the corner. Cast Alohomora on the special tile on the wall. That will open a Secret Room containing a chest. Go inside and cast Alohomora on the chest for an extra load of Colored Beans. Return to the Switch and step on it. A ledge is sliding out building a passage into the greenhouse from a hole in the roof. Jump into the greenhouse. The Boomslang Skin There is a flower-pot on the long table hiding tasty Beans. The corner on your right has got a bottle with Flobberworm Mucous and two watering-cans. Cast Flipendo on the bottle for the Muke and twice on each of the cans for Beans. On the left side is a pot on the floor containing Beans. Cast Alohomora on the chest in the corner and obtain the bronze Wizard Card #28: Tilly Toke, 1903-1991. Finally walk up to the central stand and take the Boomslang Skin. The Weekly House Point Ceremony [6.4] Harry meets Hermione by the Entrance door to Hogwarts: Hey Hermione! I found a bunch of shredded Boomslang Skin for the Polyjuice Potion. Hermione takes off and a guy comes in: The weekly House Point Ceremony is starting soon. You remember where that is, don’t you? So let’s follow him up the Monumental Staircase and left to the entrance of the weekly House Point Ceremony. Before entering though, turn left in the antechamber and cast Alohomora on the sign on the wall. Inside cast Skurge on the floor blob and Diffindo on the spider web. Jump in the opening and in the room downstairs cast Alohomora on the chest. It contains a number of Beans and the silver Wizard Card #73: Mopsus, Ancient Greek. This room is on a lower floor and the exit has opened. Exit in the passage to the Dungeons. Now that Harry is standing here, let’s go find out what that rope was all about that we had found in the Dungeons. Turn left and follow the main corridor of the Dungeons. Enter the first passage on your right. Cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm blocking a sliding door to a Gargoyle alcove and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. Turn around and go to the opposite corner where the Lumos Charm reveals a rope inside a beam (remember that?). Cast Diffindo on the rope and a floor section lowers down in the corner, unveiling a secret Chamber with a chest and Beans inside. Grab the Beans and cast Alohomora on the chest. Harry will earn the silver Wizard Card #20: Wendelin the Weird, Medieval. Climb out of the depression and leave the Dungeons. Climb up the Monumental Staircase and turn left again. Now it’s about time for the weekly House Point Ceremony. Meet Albus Dumbledore for the third time in here. It appears that Gryffindor is in the lead again, so off you go! After you’ve collected as many Beans as possible, a cut scene comes in. To the Hall of floating Ledges In the second week of December Professor McGonagall collected the names of those who would be staying at school over Christmas. Harry, Ron and Hermione signed up. They heard that Malfoy was staying, which struck them as very suspicious. The Christmas holiday would be the perfect time to use the Polyjuice Potion and try to worm a confession out of Draco. [6.5] Harry ought to head to Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom and see how the Polyjuice Potion is coming along. Let’s hope Hermione doesn’t need any more ingredients. Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom is on the second floor of the Hall of Floating Stairs. Go up the Monumental Staircase and turn right. On the left wall is a window with a spider web. Cast Diffindo on the web. Enter the Secret Room. Grab two Beans from the floor and go inside where there are four more Beans and a chest. Charm the chest with Alohomora and it will offer you the silver Wizard Card #35: Bowman Wright, 1492-1560. Leave this room and on your left proceed to the spiral Staircase up to the Gryffindor Common Room. Pass the Pink Lady and climb up the stairs at the other side of the room. While standing on the balcony look up at the ceiling. Isn't that a strange tile? Cast Alohomora on the tile. It only moves a little... Isn't there nothing else to happen? Well... yes! Turn around and see that one of the pillars has opened! It seems to contain a rope! We know what to do with ropes by now. So... Diffindo. It seemes that somewhere a secret passage is opened. Climb down the stairs. Right at the bottom of the stairs look to your left to see the secret passage! Enter the secret passage and cast Alohomora on the chest to get the silver Wizard Card #39: Gwenog Jones, 1968-present Captain and Beater. Exit this secret passage and go to the fireplace in the other room. Save your Game by the Save book and let's head for... Level 7! Level 7: The Manor The Study of Professor Dumbledore [7.1] Leave the Gryffindor Common Room for the Hall of Floating Ledges: go down the spiral staircase and turn right up the stairs and left by the statue. In the middle of this corridor, enter the Hall of Floating Ledges on your right. Walk up to the first floating staircase. When you arrive you’ll see the paralyzed Ghost of Nick hanging in the air. Harry is overwhelmed with emotions: Oh, no... not another attack... A Professor more looking like a Witch comes joining Harry: Follow me, Potter! This is out of my hands. Harry is following the Professor to a higher corridor with a Dragon Statue. Her Charm makes the Statue lower into the floor, and a door opens: Through this door, please, Potter. Follow the staircase and cast Alohomora on the chest. This one contains a number of Beans. Now go inside in Professor Dumbledore’s Study. Turn left and approach to what look like a parrot on a stand. The bird will burst into flames. Turn right and cast Flipendo on a red bottle for a couple of Beans. Avoid the red desk for now. Pass it to the library on ground level. Cast Alohomora on a chest and get the bronze Wizard Card #10: Burdock Muldoon, 1429-1490. Go up the stairs and take the Beans from the floor. Turn toward the window and notice a small chest above a sculptured tile. First cast Alohomora twice on the chest and grab a couple of Beans. Then, cast Flipendo on the tile. That will open a wall with bookshelves on your left. Go inside and an elevator will lift Harry up to a second floor. Go around, grab all Beans and enter the second section where the silver Wizard Card #79: Oswald Beamish, 1850-1932 will be yours. Jump down to ground level. Walk up to the desk where a Wizard hat is lying: It’s the old school Sorting Hat. I wondered where it was kept. And the Sorting Hat says: You’ve been wondering whether I put you in the right house. Yes, you were particularly difficult to place. But I stand by what I said before: You would have done well in Slytherin Suddenly Albus Dumbledore enters his study. Harry: Professor – your bird. I couldn’t do anything --- he just caught fire. But the Professor tells Harry that Fawkes is a Phoenix. Phoenixes burst into flame when it is time for them to die and are reborn from their ashes. Fascinating creatures, Phoenixes. They can carry immensely heavy loads. Their tears have healing powers and they make highly faithful pets. But Harry is aware of the situation at Hogwarts: Professor, I just want you to know that it wasn’t me. I’m not the attacker. Dumbledore asks Harry whether there is anything he’d like to tell him. And Harry still hears the words of Hermione in his head: Being able to talk to snakes was what Salazar Slytherin was famous for But there isn’t anything Harry can tell to the Professor. Harry leaves the study and Ron comes running into him: There you are! You need to go to Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom. Joining Hermione Follow Run but first turn left into the Defense against the Dark Arts Classroom. Enter the classroom and turn right. A small chest is standing on the window ledge next to Gilderoy’s painting. Jump on the ledge and cast Alohomora twice for some Beans. Stay on this side of the room. There is a chest on the next window ledge. Cast Alohomora on the chest and earn the bronze Wizard Card #50: Musidora Barkwith, 1520-1666. This is Harry’s 30th bronze Wizard Card, now he’s got 4 lightning meters for his stamina! Proceed to the red bottle and get a couple of more Beans out of that with Flipendo. Now turn to the other side and jump on the window ledge with a red bottle. Cast Flipendo on the bottle for Beans. Look up to the Dinosaur skeleton hanging from the ceiling and do not cast Flipendo on it four times or you’re just get a bunch of. Spiders falling down. Finally cast Flipendo twice on the tin man and shake the Beans out of him. Go out, turn left and right and cast Alohomora on the wall sign. You’ve been in here. Take care of the Gnome. Go to the Hall of Floating Stairs. Ron is waiting for Harry on the balustrade: Follow me Harry. Jump after him. You’re one floor lower now. Go to the corner. Ron is waiting at the end of the corridor. Turn right into Flitwick’s Charms classroom. Go to the red Bean on the floor and pick it up. Turn left and cast Alohomora on a chest. Receive your bronze Wizard Card #31: Balfour Blane, 1566-1629. Enter the opposite room. Turn right and cast Alohomora twice on a small chest on a table. Turn left and proceed to the Transfiguration Classroom. On your right you’ll see another small chest: cast Alohomora twice for Beans. Flip the cauldron on the opposite side and leave here. Now follow Ron by the corner. Before finally entering Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom flip a last cauldron for a pretty Colored Bean. Ron is entering the Bathroom first: I feel very uncomfortable being in a girl’s bathroom. Myrtle keeps moaning: I wish people would stop interrupting my peace and quiet! I do have feelings, you, know, even if I am dead... Hermione says that it will be the Polyjuice Potion. They will need one more ingredient for the Potion to be completely effective a bit of Goyle. That’s disgusting, replies Ron. Harry: how will I find Goyle? At this time Goyle is usually filling his face down in the dungeons. All Harry needs to do is follow the trail of food, get the bit of Goyle and bring it back here to Hermione. The Pursuit of Goyle Harry is now in the main corridor of the Dungeons and the floor is filled with pieces of food. Follow that track and Harry will see Goyle: There’s Goyle. I’d better follow him. Opposite to the open chest Harry can now cast Alohomora on a door. Go to the end of the passage and you’ll find a charmed part in the floor. Inside take some Beans and cast Skurge on an Ectoplasm. The grilled door will now open and you may climb up to the Secret Area. Pick up all the Beans, open the chest with Alohomora and retrieve the silver Wizard Card #54: Gaspard Shingleton, 1959-present, Celebrated Inventor. Now follow Goyle into entrance #4. Enter through the door that was sealed before. THE RESIDENCE [7.2] Walk up the stairs. You’ll arrive in a Hall with a staircase and will see an inner garden with two Bowtruckles and some Horklumps. Get rid of the Bowtruckles first. Go in the garden and cast Diffindo on each of the 6 Horklumps Mushrooms. Crush the spiders. Pick up the two pieces of Wiggentree Bark left by the Bowtruckles. Turn around and jump to the ledge with the owl and take a yellow Bean. Then jump to the ledge with a red Bean, further a green, green + red, and green Bean. Now enter the open doorway and proceed in the hallway with two red armchairs. There are three arcade bows all blocked by plant growth. Pick up a green and a blue Bean. Run over and grab the red Bean. Cast Diffindo on the spider web and jump into this opening. In this dark room you’ll barely notice a chest on your right. Cast Alohomora for some Beans out of that. From the second opening jump to the central roof beam above the living room of the residence. Take some Beans and cast Diffindo on the spider web in the opposite hole in the chimney wall. Jump into the hole and catch a Bean. Notice a block on your left with Flipendo signs on it. Jump to the opposite ledge with the blue Bean. Cast Flipendo twice on the block and make it slide to the bookshelves. Go left behind the narrow wall and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. Climb the block and take a red Bean from the cabinet. Jump through the transparent wall into a secret room and cast Alohomora on the chest. That will provide Harry his silver Wizard Card #62: Ignatia Wildsmith, 1227-1320, inventor of Floo Powder. Take the stairs and save by the book. THE ROOFTOP GARDENS [7.3] Run to the end of the hallway and turn left to the entrance of a small courtyard where a giant Fire Crab is waiting in ambush on a pedestal. Cast Rictusempra twice on the crab and then Flipendo a number of times to get it into its hole on the left side. Step on the footstep print on the pedestal and a door will open to an antechamber giving access to an octagonal lawn. Come down and first take a red Bean out of the alcove. Go to the antechamber and stun the Gnome with Flipendo. There is a hole and a window with a spider web. Don’t throw the Gnome in yet! Pick him up and carry him up the ramp on the right of the octagonal lawn. Jump and throw him among the Horklumps Mushrooms. Cast Diffindo on the SpiPri Plant on your left. When he’s done stun each of the Giant Orange Snails with Rictusempra, and get rid of all the other SpiPri Plants while you’re there. Cast Flipendo on the Gnome and harvest all the BB Beans. Pick up the Gnome and carry him back to the antechamber, where you’ll throw him into the hole. Turn around and cast Diffindo on the spider web. Climb into the Secret Area and cast Alohomora on the chest. Sorry…no Card, just Beans! Cross the lawn and cast Diffindo on the spider web that blocks a door. Enter the room and turn around. Climb up and cast Flipendo twice on the block with the similar sign. Jump down the hole on the block and from here blow a hole with Diffindo in each of both SpiPri plants higher up in front of Harry. Jump to the high lawn and open the Gnome hole with Diffindo. Let the Gnome treat the Horklumps and throw him into the hole. Climb the steps on your left or right side and go pick up the colored Bean. From this position cast Lumos on the Gargoyle higher up and go to the other side of the ledge. Look up to the charmed block. Walk on the ledge behind the blocks and get rid of two SpiPri Plants. There is a Choc Frog on your right and a bottle with Flobberworm Mucous on a bench. Cast Flipendo and grab the Muke. Take a couple of Beans from the shelves and turn around the corner where you’ll see a Gargoyle. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle, turn around and run to the charmed wall on your right. The Secret Room has a chest with some Beans inside. Enter the rooftop garden. Basically there is just a bunch of Tentaculas and SpiPri Plants. There is a lower ledge with a chest and one with a cauldron. The other two lower ledges merely offer Horklumps Mushrooms. So go to your right and sever an arm of the Tentacula. From here cast Diffindo on a SpiPri plant on the opposite lawn and stun the Tentacula. Jump over and get rid of the other SpiPri Plant. There is a Choc Frog also. Jump down to the chest, cast Alohomora and grab the Beans. There is another Choc Frog on the next lawn. Climb up to the previous lawn, stun the Tentacula again and jump over. Jump down to the ledge with the cauldron and cast Flipendo... for a few Beans more (now where have you heard that before?). Go to the next lawn and climb into the window. You’ll be in an L-shaped passage with some empty flower-pots on the floor. Cast Diffindo on the spider web and the window opens. Also a block on your right side will lower down. Go and look inside the library but do not enter yet. There is a Save Book. You might stun the flying Cornush Pixie though. Jump to the lowered block and go all the way to ground floor. Careful with the Snails, you may better stun them should they approach. Turn right and run into the open room. A hatch will open showing a sign of two Fire Crabs. The Crabs fall down from the ceiling. Stun them with Rictusempra and push them into the hole with Flipendo. Now the elevator goes one floor up. A new hatch opens, this time with two Snails on it. Two Giant Orange Snails drop down. Get them into that hole and the elevator goes one floor up once again. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle, turn right and step to the charmed wall with bookshelves. Cast Rictusempra on the Cornush Pixie, enter and cast Alohomora on the lock of the door. Open the chest with Alohomora for a bunch of Beans. Go out and turn right where you’’ll see a spider web above a red armchair. Cast Diffindo, and the wall will slide to the left. Proceed and around the corner part of the floor will drop down…with Harry on it. Immediately turn around and stun the Fire Crab behind the bars with Rictusempra. Then, push it into the hole with Flipendo, and the floor will rise again. Proceed till the entrance to a wide and deep octagonal shaft with a Gargoyle. First get rid of that nasty Pixie with Rictusempra. Walk till the middle of the large wooden cross and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle high above. A cinematic will then show the passage where you just came from. Now a secret staircase is going down. Turn back and go down the stairs. You’ll see 3 rotating beams each with a Flipendo sign. On the floor there are 3 red signs in a row on your left, and blue signs on your right. Cast Flipendo on the beams and arrange three red and three blue colors in a row. That will open the left and the right entrance on the first floor. The Gargoyle on your left has the same function as the previous one. Return upstairs and enter each opened room. The chest on your left contains some Beans and the bronze Wizard Card #47: Edgar Stroulger, 1703-1789, Inventor of Sneakoscope. The chest on your right contains some Beans and a Chocolate Frog which Harry may wish to eat for his lost Stamina. Return to the entrance of the staircase and cast Alohomora on a lock on your left side. That will open a second staircase leading upwards. Go up and jump left or right to the narrow ledge. Walk past the Gargoyle to a dark Secret Room behind him. Cast Alohomora on the chest and obtain lots of Beans and your bronze Wizard Card #44: Devlin Whitehorn, 1945-present, Company founder. Go down and follow the beam, down the stairs into a dark area full of Ectoplasms, all sitting on a BB Bean. First cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and make some light in the dark under there. Cast Skurge and grab the Beans. Do not open the chest... Peeves is hiding in there! In the next room is another Gargoyle. This and the previous one each may charm the wall on your left. Go inside the Secret Room and cast Alohomora on the chest. It contains 3 (!) Chocolate Frogs. Now Harry is fully healthy! Keep casting Lumos for light in here. Whipe out the entire area of blobs and grab more Beans. Safely work your way to the Save Book. THE BARN [7.5] Go down the stairs and cast Diffindo on two spider webs (watch the spiders). Climb up and enter the attic of the barn. Make the Pixie vanish with Rictusempra. Go halfway and turn right. Remove both spider web with Diffindo. Jump down to a workshop, grab a Bean on the side with the ladder and eat a Choc Frog on the other side if you wish. Cast Diffindo on the rope that holds a block. Look down and jump to the pile of blocks (run into that direction). Come down from the blocks and first get rid of the Bowtruckle with a Diffindo Spell. Take his Wiggentree Bark. Then, stun the Gnome and throw him into his hole. Take all Beans. Go to the section with the young flower plants. There are two Beans in the corner. Climb the block in the corner and further up to the walkway. Destroy two SpiPri Plants. Cast Alohomora on the corner chest for Beans. Proceed on the walkway and collect the Beans. Notice a closed door. Cast Diffindo on the rope in the pit. That will release a draw-bridge over the water below, and in one time open a Secret Area below. Jump down near the bridge. Sever all arms of the two Tentaculas guarding the bridge. Inflate the SpiPri Plant from on the bridge and jump past the Tentacula to that side. Continue along this narrow path and get rid of two more SpiPri Plants. At the end turn right and cast Rictusempra on a Fire Crab. Cross the water. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and turn around, run to the charmed wall across the water. Cast Alohomora on the chest and get a few Beans. Go inside the Secret Area and immediately inflate two SpiPri Plants. Enter and cast Diffindo on two Bowtruckles on your right. Grab the two pieces of Bark. Cast Diffindo on the rope above the thick wooden platform and a chest will fall down. A Spell of Alohomora on the chest will make Harry earn more Beans and his silver Wizard Card #22: Circe, Ancient Greek. Cross the bridge to the track of the Giant Orange Snail and stun the fellow with Rictusempra. Run to the corner and inflate the four SpiPri Plants with Diffindo. THE BIT OF GOYLE Open the door lock of the barn with Rictusempra: I have to be careful not to wake Goyle. There are doors on your left and right to open up with Alohomora. They each contain a cauldron. Flipendo on those will get you extra Beans. Let Harry approach and he will take a bit of Goyle. Now let's head for... Level 8! Level 8: Slytherin The Bathroom of Moaning Myrtle [8.1] Harry is standing at the third floor of the Hall of Floating Ledges. He needs to take the bit of Goyle back to Hermione in Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom. Proceed straight to the Bathroom, you know the way now. Harry adds the bit of Goyle to Hermione’s Potion. Now he’s got to drink that thing! Harry changes into Goyle. He talks in a lazy way! Let Goyle/Harry investigate the Bathroom. First open the chest in the octagonal section of the Bathroom. It contains the bronze wizard Card # 37: Cassandra Vablatsky, 1894-1997, Celebrated Seer and author. Now enter the toilets section. About halfway on your left you may cast Flipendo on a toilet. Grab the Beans. Myrtle keeps going on, don’t pay attention to her babble. Harry/Goyle has got to find the Slytherin dormitory. It’s somewhere in the Dungeon! When you’re passing the second floor you may as well visit the Room with Four Locks and unlock a next lock, because Harry has collected over 20 silver Wizard Cards! Go out of the Hall and down the Monumental Staircase. The entrance to the Dungeons is on your right. As soon as Goyle enters here, you’ll see some Slytherin guy running into entrance #2 (the first one your right). Follow him. The guy says the password: Pure-blood! Ah! So that’s the password. Goyle goes on with his slow voice: I bet I can use that to get into the Slytherin Common Room. Goyle has to follow the guy, apply the password and enter the Slytherin Common Room. The House of Slytherin [8.2] Goyle is entering an octagonal room with three monster faces on the walls. You are hearing the grunting of Gnomes. Step on the central green circle and the room will rotate. Enter the next room with a brightly colored tile on the floor. Cast Flipendo on each of both tin soldiers and shake out some Beans. Then, cast Flipendo on the brown statue and it will rise. Now that fellow is standing on a Flipendo block. Cast Flipendo on the block while Goyle is standing on the tile and he will go down together with it. Enter a room with an octagonal wooden wheel immobilized by two ropes. Cast Diffindo on each rope and the doors will open. In the next room, three Gnomes are making troubles. Stun and throw each of these nasty fellows in the hole. Enter the next room with three brown statues. The door will close behind Goyle. Cast Flipendo on the one on your right, then on the next two, starting from your right. The plate will go up, and jump off there since it will promptly go down again. You’ll enter another octagonal room will wall monsters. Step on the central circle. Now you’ll see how some chap is casting Skurge on three Ectoplasms inside a next room and he’s saying: have fun Goyle! Before saving by the book, cast Flipendo on the ringed tile on your right and that door will open up. There you’ll notice a Flipendo sign. Cast Flipendo on it. A secret entrance then unveils behind the corner where the Save Book is waiting. Now save [8.3] Enter the Secret Room on your right. Walk down the stairs and cast Skurge on a floorblob. Down the stairs you’ll enter a room with three monster faces on the wall. Cast Flipendo on each face and three blocks will come out of the wall outside this room. Cast Alohomora on the chest and retrieve your silver Wizard Card #3: Elfrida Clagg, 1612-1687, Chieftaness. If you step on the footprints the large trap-door will go up again – for a short while, and then it goes down. There is a Flipendo block on your left side. Cast Flipendo on that and some ledges start to move. If you jump to both ledges you’ll hop into a room on the second floor with some Ectoplasms and a Gargoyle. Cast Skurge on all of the green ones. A purple Flipendo sign has now set free. Cast Flipendo on it. Now some green stuff is falling down below and forms three new Ectoplasms. You may cast Flipendo on that sign forever, it’ll always repeat the same movie. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. A part in the floor on your right is now being charmed. You’ll drop on the floor plate with footstep signs on it, and this time the trap-door goes up…and stays up! Proceed and cast Flipendo on the cauldron for a Chocolate Frog. Turn left and a next cauldron contains Beans. Now go in. You’ll arrive in a Hall with a Gargoyle and 4 Cornish Pixies flying around. Get rid of these pesky Pixies. At the right of the Gargoyle you can look over the banisters. You'll see floating platforms. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. Then climb over the banisters and jump on the first floating platform. Go on walking and jumping across the platforms until you reach the correct spot. Be careful to not fall down and be sure to reach the correct spot in time before your light goes out. Empty the two Armours and the chest to get lots of Beans. Now go all the way back. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle once more. Walk to the left and jump on the next set of floating platforms. Walk/jump all the way until you reacht a correct spot again. You'll see what it is. In this room you find one Armour and two chests. The Armour and the chest at the right are containing lots of Beans. The chest in the center of the room contains the bronze Wizardcard # 24: Adalbert Waffling, 1899-1981 Famous magical theoreticien. Now go all the way back and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle once more. Turn to the left and walk until the end of the carpet. You’ll be entering the Slytherin Common Room. Look at the second sign on your left. It is an upside-down triangle with a circle in the middle. There are lots of Beans and spider nets. Cast Rictusempra on the giant spiders. You’ll find a tile-and-a-ring in the wall. Cast Alohomora on the thing. Now enter a Library. Turn left and notice another tile-with-a-ring on your left. Cast Flipendo on the tile. On your left a bookcase will lower down. Jump to the shelves and look to a panel that will lower, revealing a chest. Cast Alohomora on the chest and earn the bronze wizard Card #67: Justus Pilliwickle, 1862-1953, Celebrated Head. Go out of the Library, and you will see a brown statue. Cast Flipendo on it and it will treat Goyle on a vicious laughter, spitting spiders at him. Turn left and right. There are two Slytherin Banners. Cast Alohomora on each of them and in the middle a door will open unveiling a Secret Room with a chest inside. Cast Alohomora on the chest and seize your silver Wizard Card #17: Morgan le Fay, Medieval, dates unknown. Go out of this room, turn right. Behind the corner go left and enter a room with a blue Gargoyle face in it. Cast Flipendo on the two tin men in there. Get out the Beans. Cast Alohomora on the blue face and that door will open. Cast Alohomora on the chest and earn the bronze Wizard Card #95: Yardley Platt, 1446-1557, Serial goblin-killer. Go out here. Turn right, left and right and enter the Slytherin Common Room. There is a fireplace. Turn right and cast Flipendo on the bottle with Flobberworm Mucous. Take out the Muke. Go further to the round table and cast Flipendo on a bottle with Wiggentree Bark. Take the Bark. Proceed opposite to the fireplace. Turn right. Malfoy will join you: There you are Goyle. Draco has been looking all over for Goyle: Come on, follow me. Draco talks with Goyle by the fireplace: You know, Goyle, I suppose Dumbledore’s trying to hush up all these attacks. He’ll be fired if they don’t stop soon. And as for Saint Potter, he’s another one with no proper Wizard feeling. And people think he’s Slytherin’s Heir! I wish I knew who it is. I could help them (can you believe this guy? What an arrogant prick!). Goyle (Harry!) replies: You must have some idea who’s behind it all? But that didn’t do the trick: You know I haven’t Goyle, how many times do I have to tell you? But now Draco is confessing. But I know one thing: last time the Chamber of Secrets was opened a Mudblood girl died. So I bet it’s a matter of time before one of them is killed this time. I hope it’s Granger. Harry/Goyle doesn’t feel all that comfortable with this kind of talk: Anyway, er, Draco, I’d best be going. Goyle insists that he wants to go to the hospital wing. He’s got a so-called stomach-ache and needs to get something for it. Draco doesn’t want Goyle hanging around here all night with that pained expression on his face. Go back opposite to the fireplace. Turn right. Then, take a left and go up the stairs. There is a chest between two sealed doors. Cast Alohomora on the chest and take the Beans out of it. Go down again, turn right. Go left, back to the fireplace. Go up the stairs on your left side. Now you will see Goyle changing back into Harry: I’d better try to keep my distance from the Slytherin kids and sneak out. If they spot me in here…who knows what might happen!. Your game will be automatically saved now. [8.4] Harry is standing in front of the two Slytherin Banners. If he’s got caught by any of the Slytherin kids, Prof. Snape will punish Harry! Harry needs to get out of here without any of the Slytherins seeing him! Just run through the corridor in the direction of the Hall with the Gargoyle. You’ll be followed by angry Slytherins, and then a cut scene comes in. The news that Nearly Headless Nick had been petrified spread through the school like a dark cloud when everyone got back from holiday. If a Ghost can be petrified - the students thought - then no one is safe?! The first years moved around the Castle in tight-knit groups, afraid they might be attacked if they ventured out alone. A furious trade in Talismans, Amulets, and other protective Devices was sweeping the school. In the meantime, Harry had learned that Draco Malfoy was not the Heir of Slytherin. But... if it isn’t Draco... and it isn’t Harry then who is it? Now let's head for... level 9! Level 9: Spongify Defense Against Dark Arts Class (2) [9.1] Coming down from the spiral staircase of the Gryffindor Common Room, Harry runs into Hermione. Hurry, Harry! It’s time for our Defense Against Dark Arts Class! Harry’s in a grumpy mood this morning: Not there again... It’ll be wonderful. Prof. Lockhart is going to teach them Spongify! Follow Hermione to the Hall of Floating Ledges. She’s calling Harry from upstairs: Hurry! We don’t want to be late for Professor Lockhart’s Class! But Harry keeps on grumbling: What do you mean “we” ? Go up to the third floor and follow Hermione to the class. The ever splendid Lockhart welcomes them all “to their favorite Class”. Please, hold your applause while we learn Spongify! Don’t let my good looks distract you! Great work lad, you’ve completed all of the exercises! You’ve mastered Spongify! So now you can take the Spongify Challenge! The Spongify Challenge [9.2] Welcome, Harry Potter, to the Spongify Challenge. To complete the Challenge, you must find the Completion Star, which can be found several floors above us. In this 4th Challenge of our game you’ll start off with 1,000 seconds to collecting 10 Challenge Stars and unveiling 16 Secrets. THE ROOM WITH TWO GNOMES Continue to the next room and on the downward ramp listen to Prof. Lockhart’s explanation of how to use the Spongify Spell on the marked carpets: Spongify Carpets are hidden throughout Hogwarts. You can cast Spongify on them and they will propel you to a higher area when you jump on them. You may either jump to a charmed Carpet, or stand on it and do a standing jump. In either case the effect of the Carpet on the next high or distant jump would be equal. Go down the ramp and hop left or right to ground floor. Stun and throw each of both Gnomes into the holes. Down the stairs between the two Gnome holes a room with four Beans and a Gargoyle has opened. On the other side flip the cauldrons and get more Beans. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle, run out, climb the centrally elevated section and look up. You’ll see a ledge and an opening on your right. In front of the opening a ledge charmed by Lumos is visible now. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and, facing the wall with the opening, stand on the front right corner of the charmed Carpet. Jump high up and press forward in the direction of the charmed ledge and Harry will reach the edge. Enter your first Secret Room and cast Alohomora on the chest. Harry will retrieve his 40th bronze Wizard Card #1: Merlin, Medieval, most famous Wizard of all times! Facing Glideroy’s statue, look at the wall on your right. There is a lighter wall section looking like an upside down letter “T”. Cast Alohomora on top of that sign. A second Secret Room has now unveiled; meantime a block has emerged from the wall behind Harry’s back. Climb the block and jump to the Room. Open the chest with Alohomora and obtain the silver Wizard Card #92: Xavier Rastrick, 1750-1836, Wizard Entertainer. Go down from this room. Run and jump from the corner of the charmed ledge to the corner of the ledge with the Star. (note: that should work fine but if you should miss the jump and fall to ground level start from the central console and Spongify the Carpet. Face the Star ledge and jump high on it. You will loose some seconds for your Challenge though) On that ledge you’ll seize your 1st Challenge Star. Continue to the next room. THE GREAT TOWER (1) Enter this room and Gilderoy interferes: Imps are vicious little creatures Like Gnomes, you use Flipendo to knock them back, then you can pick them up and throw them into a hole to get rid of them. Promptly stun the Imp with Flipendo – they’re a lot faster than a Gnome. Pick him up and throw him into one of the holes. Should he not tumble in the hole at once give him a blast with Flipendo. Next, stun the Gnome and throw him into a hole as well. Catch some Beans. On your left side a door to a Secret Room has now opened. Go in, cast Alohomora on the chest and capture a bunch of Beans. Go stand near the central Spongify Carpet and look up. Waw! This is a towering Room full of balconies! This must the place where the Completion Star must be found several floors above Harry! Cast Spongify on the carpet, and face the Gnome holes when you jump to the ledge above them. TWO DEEP TRENCHES Proceed and a door will close behind Harry. You’ll be standing on a Carpet in front of a deep void. First walk on the narrow ledge on your left and pick up the Beans. Climb the higher window ledge and cast Spongify on the Carpet here. Jump far to the opposite ledge by the window and catch three more Beans. Turn left. Cast Alohomora on the gothic panel. Enter and seize your 2nd Challenge Star. Follow the ledge with three Beans. Jump to the floating block when it arrives and ride till the opposite ledge where you’ll hop off. Cast Alohomora on the chest and enjoy some more Beans. Ride the floating block again till the middle and hop to the ledge on your left side. There you’ll catch Challenge Star #3. Turn around the corner and save. THE CHAPEL WITH THREE IMPS [9.3] When you enter this place the door will lock behind Harry. Go further and a cinematic sequence will show how a Challenge Star is hidden on a suspended ledge on high. Thereafter two of three Imps will attack very fast in here. Quickly cast Flipendo on each of them before one can do Harry some harm. Should one sting he’ll run off. Cast Flipendo on the runner and once again on the stunned one. Pick up one of them and throw him into the hole on your right, next to the Ectoplasm. The third Imp may also arrive from behind the tall block, so quickly stun the new one and cast Flipendo on the Imp that’s lying down or has woken up by now. Throw them into the hole. (Tip: should you fail doing this you may always re-try from the save point and run to the block on your left side. Climb the block and try to stun the Imps from there, then come down to throw one in the hole) Notice a Gargoyle higher up in his niche that has now opened. Cast Skurge on the floor Ectoplasm. Jump to the smaller block on your left side and from here into the Gargoyle’s niche. Grab the Bean. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and hop down on your right and follow the wall to a narrow section with a Choc Frog. Eat the Frog and enter the transparent wall into the Secret Chamber and cast Alohomora on the chest. You will get the bronze Wizard Card #81: Quong Po, 1443-1539, Chinese Wizard. Turn around and from this position cast Flipendo thrice on the tall block carrying the Flipendo signs. Return to the smaller block and Spongify the Carpet on top of it. Cast Flipendo on the tall block from this position, then launch Harry to the block. Jump and pull up to the next ledge and Spongify the local Carpet. Turn around and jump far to the suspended ledge with the Star. The ledge will lower down and you can grab your 4th Challenge Star. Turn around, jump to the ledge and take the exit. THE HALL WITH FOUR CRABS Cast Flipendo on each red bottle by the staircase going down. Grab some Beans. Go down and a cut scene reveals the location of your next Challenge Star high up in this Room. In the floor two trap doors will open and four Fire Crabs appear out of the blue. Go to the edge of the ledge and cast Rictusempra on each of the two rear Crabs. Stay out of the target area of the two front Crabs and continuously cast Flipendo on each Crab. You can get the Crabs in their holes from here till each hatch locks them up. Anyway, keep one or both rear Crabs on their back with Rictusempra/Flipendo and take care of the front Crabs. Stand near a corner of the ledge and cast Rictusempra on the corresponding front Crab. Get it in its hole with Flipendo. Should one Crab remain, jump down and finish the job from there. When all Crabs are in their holes a Secret Room will open in the central trench. Jump in there from the middle and watch out for a deadly void up front! Cast Alohomora on the chest in the Secret room and earn your silver Wizard card #98: Dymphna Furmage, 1612-1698, Abductee. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and do a far jump to the opposite ledge by a closed exit door. Jump down and climb the front ledge once again. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and stand at the front corner on your right for a nasty and tricky high jump! Jump high and when Harry is near his peak make a left twist to the corner of the roof beam. Try to land on that corner, and not in the middle of the beam. Should you fall off there you’ll end up in that bottomless void of the trench. Clearly you may also try to land on the right side of the beam (in which case you’ll have to position Harry on the left corner of the Carpet). In either case – left or right – you’ll drop on the floor should you miss the beam. Standing on the beam and facing the wall, turn left and cast Flipendo on the equivalent sign on the wall in front of you. A second beam will emerge behind Harry’s back. Turn around and jump to the beam. Cast Flipendo on the other wall sign in front of you. A third beam slides out of the wall. Jump to the beam and... on to the ledge with the Star and capture your 5th Challenge Star. Now the suspended ledge will lower down in front of the open exit door. Continue around the corner and cast Skurge on the floor Ectoplasm. Jump in the square hole into a small room with four Beans on the floor. THE MAUSOLEUM Turn around the corner and stay on top of the stairs. The first painting on the left wall seems foggy and has no particular image. Mmmh... looks suspicious. Jump to it and it appears to be the camouflaged entrance to a Secret Room! Inside open the chest with Alohomora. You’ll be rewarded with some Beans. Return to the top of the stairs and look at the paintings on your right side. One painting is upside down. Cast Flipendo on that painting. Now the stairs will transform into a staircase that goes down to a Secret Room with a chest. Turn around and cast Alohomora on the chest. You will obtain the silver Wizard Card #52: Felix Summerbee, 1447-1508, Inventor. Go up and enter the upper floor of a Mausoleum-like building. Eliminate a Cornish Pixie with Rictusempra (there are actually two in here). Turn right and jump down to floor level. Watch the other Pixie flying by, you know how to get rid of it before it gets nasty. Turn around and notice a room with three Beans on the floor and a sign on the wall. Cast Alohomora on the sign and the wall panel drops into the floor, revealing a room with a Gargoyle. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and climb the blocks up to the second floor again. Turn around the corner and cast Spongify on the Carpet. Jump to the console. You’ll be landing on a charmed section of the floor hiding a Carpet. Cast Flipendo on the tall block and that will go down in a hole to floor level. Turn around, Spongify this Carpet and jump high on the narrow ledge under the circular stained glass window (press front arrow while jumping). Take the Beans and face the Hall. Jump to the ledge on your right from the corner. Cast Flipendo on a bottle containing some Wiggentree Bark. The Bark will fall to the floor below. Return and proceed to the ledge on the other side. Jump from corner to corner - it’s a tricky jump as well. Cast Flipendo on the bottle and some Flobberworm Mucous will drop down. You may pick up both items later on. Follow the ledge till the end and notice an “S” sign on the wall. Stand on the edge, cast Alohomora and open a panel in the wall. Look down at a Secret Room with a Star. Jump in and take your 6th Challenge Star. The floor of the room will sink. Enter the next room and take four Beans and eat the Choc Frog. Go out and first pick up the Muke and the Bark shattered around the console. Return to the first floor and cast Alohomora on the small chest on a table for some extra load of Beans. Go stand in the room of the Gargoyle and cast your spell thrice on the Flipendo sign of the block. Jump on the block and from there to the balcony and take your 7th Challenge Star. Save by the book. THE GRAND CRYSTAL PALACE [9.4] Harry reaches a higher ledge in the great Tower. Spongify the ledge’s Carpet and launch Harry to an opposite higher ledge. You’ll be snatching some Beans while describing your parabolic path crossing the tower. You’ll be hearing the farting sounds of a Fire Crab in the next passage. Anyway, better cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm in there from the safe location of this ledge. Go in and quickly cast Rictusempra twice on the giant Fire Crab on your right. The door closes behind Harry. Climb through the hole and grab a Bean. Cast Skurge on the blob and climb into the next room with two new Ectoplasms. Cast Skurge on the left one first and then on the right one and promptly cast Rictusempra on the Fire Crab that was hiding in ambush behind this jelly. In this small room you may catch two Chocolate Frogs and get a little healthier. The alcove is blocked, so leave and climb to the opening that was sealed by the other Ecto. Cast Skurge on the new blob and unveil a Spongify Carpet. Spongify! Jump on the carpet and Harry will be launched to a distant wall with three Beans. Below you can see that Giant Fire Crab crawling on its back. Better jump down from the other side and take your 8th Challenge Star. Hear how “wild” that music is getting? Cast Alohomora on the small chest for some extra stack of Beans. Now enter the Grand Crystal Palace. Spongify the Carpet on the lower ledge, jump on it and get propelled to the next taller pillar. Cast Rictusempra on the Cornish Pixie. Notice a second winged thing flying around in the Palatial Hall. That’s a white Potter Owl. Aim at the Owl and cast Alohomora on it. That will open a Secret Room higher up next to a suspended ledge with a Challenge Star. Spongify the carpet Harry’s standing on and fly up to the next taller pillar. From this position steal a few secs from your Challenge score and overlook this magnificent place. Cast Spongify on this Carpet and fly up to the Star ledge. This is Harry’s 9th Challenge Star. Turn right and hop to the Owl’s Secret Room. Cast Alohomora on the chest and get a nice load of Beans. Hmm…not so much gain for all that trouble. Hop back to the ledge and jump down on the right side. Try not to hit the Save Book for now. Turn around and go down to a lower ledge with two cauldrons. Extract the Beans with Flipendo. From here, look at the middle pedestal. See that bright sign on the pillar? Remember that sign. Turn around and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. That will reveal three charmed ledges. Go down the ledges and cast Flipendo on the pillar’s sign. Two secret entrances in the walls slide down. Enter the opened room by the lowest ledge and Spongify the Carpet. Jump and Harry will be all the way propelled to the opposite room. Enter this Secret Room and open the chest with Alohomora. Harry receives the silver Wizard Card #97: Alberic Grunnion, 1803-1882, Inventor. Use the Spongified Carped to propel back to the previous room and return by the magic ledges to the Gargoyle. Spongify the Carpet in front of the Gargoyle and jump to the ledge with the Save Book. Better save here. THE LITTLE TOWER [9.5] Enter the next room with a chest and two sealed doors. When Harry walks up to the chest the floor will sink. Immediately jump backward. Two giant Spiders emerge from their Flipendo holes and attack! Quickly cast Rictusempra on each, then open the chest for Beans. Each hole carries a Flipendo sign on the inside. Cast Flipendo on one of the signs, then go stand in that hole and cast Flipendo on the other sign. From here jump down in the hole and you’ll find a chest in a Secret Room. Cast Alohomora on the chest and earn a well-deserved bunch of Beans. Cast Spongify on the Carpet in front of the chest and jump high up to the elevated floor. Both doors are open now: a passage and a Gargoyle have unveiled. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and follow the opposite passage. Immediately behind the curved corner cast Rictusempra on two suddenly attacking pesky Pixies. Turn right and notice the charmed wall. Catch a Chocolate Frog and cast Alohomora on the chest in the Secret Room and gather some…Every Flavored Beans. Go out, turn right and stumble upon a bottle of Wiggentree Bark in the alcove on your right hand. Cast Flipendo and collect some Bark. Go on and a metal door will close behind Harry. Keep that spot in mind. Behind the corner you’ll see the Little Tower. First cast Rictusempra on two flying Pixies. Jump on the central pedestal with the printed footsteps and it will sink in the floor next to where a panel covering a Spongify Carpet is sliding open. Turn left and cast Flipendo on the wall tile. That’ll open a Secret Room with... four BB Beans. Go out and turn left where you may notice a chest in the dark. Cast Alohomora and receive your bronze Wizard Card #88: Celestina Warbeck, 1917-present, singing Sorceress. Spongify the Carpet and jump in the direction of the opening higher up. Enter the room with the chest. If you cast Alohomora on this one, you’ll get... Peeves! So, leave that chest for what it is. Better cast Flipendo on the bottle of Flobberworm Mucous and get it out. Cast Diffindo on the rope that blocks the wheel and the bridge inside the Little Tower will rotate into a horizontal position. It also opens the exit door of this room. Follow a dark passage and at the end turn right and immediately cast Rictusempra twice on a giant Fire Crab. Cast Diffindo on the spider web on top of the ledge above the crawling Crab. Cast Spongify on the floor Carpet and jump to the ledge. Immediately cast Rictusempra on each of the two giant Spiders. Music is getting pretty wild here too. Grab a Bean, turn right and grab another Bean. Now the passage ends. Look down. That’s the metal door that had closed behind Harry a while ago. Jump down and return to the ledge in the Little Tower. Now you may cross the bridge! You make first grab some Beans from the blocks on your left side and go up again. Now cross the bridge and acquire your final Challenge Star: #10. Go in and save by the Book. THE GREAT TOWER (2) [9.6] Harry must jump to a pillar with a Spongify Carpet. Cross the couple of hammers to another pillar by a well-timed Spongify jump. From the opposite pillar jump to the entrance on your right and proceed to a tall and narrow Tower. Notice a shadow on the floor. Wonder who’s shadow that is. Look up and see how a spider web is sealing off the tower. You may spot the Giant Spider waiting behind its web. That’s the one that casts that shadow. Cast Diffindo on the web. The giant Spider will drop down, so immediately jump backwards and cast Rictusempra to stun it. Look up again and cast Flipendo on a tile in the middle of a wall. This will open a Carpet on the floor Harry is standing on. Spongify the Carpet and jump up to the opening. Inside cast Alohomora on the chest and obtain the bronze Wizard Card #96: Hengist of Woodcroft, Medieval, dates unknown. If you stand in the opening and look up on your left side you’ll notice a similar opening in the wall. But it’s too high to jump to. Go down and you’ll find out that a Spongified jump from the Carpet won’t reach that height either. Guess we’ll need another entrance... Remember this entrance. Proceed to a high ledge of the Great Tower from where you’ll spot the ledge with the Completion Star. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and... Harry lands on the balcony... with a Carpet (???). Do not take the Completion Star yet! Cast Flipendo on a tile which you will see above the Star on the wall. Spongify this Carpet and jump to the unveiled opposite entrance. There is no Carpet on this side, so you can’t return to the Completion Star from here. On each side stands a bottle with Bark and with Muke, get these out with Flipendo. Further on, you’ll see a chest. Run and jump to the Secret Room and cast Alohomora on the chest. Harry Will earn the silver Wiz... hold on, sorry... some BB Beans (Arghh... is that all?). Stand in the opening of this Secret Room, that is the one you saw before but couldn’t reach. Jump to the lower entrance on your right and on to the floor. Proceed to the ledge with the Carpet, Spongify it and jump back to the room with the Completion Star. Take the completion Star! Congratulations, Harry Potter, you’ve just successfully completed the Spongify Challenge! The Weekly House Point Ceremony [9.7] Some girl runs into Harry when he leaves the Spongify Challenge area. Harry, the Weekly House Point Ceremony is about to start! You don’t want to miss it. Follow her to the Monumental Staircase. There are a couple of Spongify Carpets in the area that Harry may wish to investigate first. See that one on top of the stairs? Spongify! Now Harry jumps to the high window ledge between the two tin armors. Grab some Beans and cast Alohomora on the chest. This one contains the bronze Wizard Card #29: Archibald Alderton, 1568-1623, Wizard Cook. Still recall that Carpet near the Dungeons? Go down the stairs and take a right. On the left of the table with the radio set you’ve been in a Secret Room before. Cast Alohomora on the “I” sign and enter once again. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and jump high up to a ledge, meanwhile snatching some Beans. Go in the Secret Room and open the chest with Alohomora. More Beans are your award... Try to jump down when the Carpet is still charmed, but jump next to it! Harry will take no harm. Now leave the Dungeons for once and for all and ascend the Monumental Staircase. Go left to the House Point Ceremony Room. Professor Dumbledore welcomes everyone to a 4th round into the Bean Bonus Room. Dependent on the number of House Points either Harry or Draco will enter. If you desire more house points for Harry’s House of Gryffindor, go play some Quidditch first! The Announcement (the Beginning of the Outcome) After that, Harry is standing outside the Ceremony Room. Proceed straight and Ron will come running into Harry: Hey Harry, something has really upset Moaning Myrtle. This time more than the usual. Ron could hear her wailing all the way from the Hall of floating Stairs. And the corridor outside her bathroom is floated again. Harry gets a bit scared now: You don’t think someone else has been attacked, do you? Anything could have happened! So, follow Ron to the Hall of Floating Stairs. After a game loading proceed and Ron will call Harry from upstairs: Come on, Harry! But first go down to the basement and look at the four Spongify Carpets on the floor. Each one will propel Harry high up in the Hall. Facing the chest select the middle Carpet and cast Spongify on it. Harry will go way up and... snatch his silver Wizard Card #89: Alberta Toothill 1391-1483, Duel Winner. Coming down try not to land on the charmed Carpet or Harry will go up again. Stop by the smoky cauldron under the staircase and mix all of Harry’s extra Flobberworm Mucous and Wiggentree Bark into some more Wiggenweld Potions. Then, save by the adjacent book. Now let's head for... Level 10! Level 10: The Forest The Diary of Tom Riddle [10.1] There is only one girl that has got something to trade here: Flobberworm Mucous. You’ve got plenty of Bark and Beans, so you might give it a shot. It’s only 50 Beans... You may purchase up to two Mukes. Now go to the smoky cauldron and mix the Potion(s). Go up the stairs, take the first Floating Staircase and enter the Room with Four Locks on your left. Harry has got over 30 silver Wizard Cards, so go unlock the 3rd Lock. Before leaving, remember that Spongify Carpet in the Secret Room on your right? Let’s go in there now and check it out. Spongify the Carpet and jump high up; grasp all the floating Beans. Harry will land on an octagonal ledge full of BB Beans. Go out here and take the second Staircase to where Ron is waiting for Harry. There is a Spongify Carpet here! Spongify! And jump. Harry will be propelled to the 3rd floor. Remember that Spongify Carpet you saw in the Infirmary ages ago (see [2.1])? Let’s check that Carpet before going any further with Ron. So take the Staircase to the 4th floor and follow the corridor. Take a right into the Infirmary and proceed to the next corridor with the Gargoyle on your left side. Turn right, down the stairs and enter the office. Go down the stairs – left or right – and observe the carpet lying in front of the open chest. Look up. What do you see? A sort of long dark hatch in the ceiling? Go up the stairs and notice a big grey tile on the floor between the two cauldrons. Jump on it. It appears to be a Switch, similar to the one we saw in [6.1]. The tile will lower down causing the ceiling hatch to slide open. Go down again, Spongify the carpet and jump to the secret Room in the ceiling. Grab the two Beans and open the chest with Alohomora. Harry receives the silver Wizard Card #38: Chauncey Oldridge, 1342-1379, Dragon Victim. Jump down and leave the Infirmary for the upper floor in the Hall of floating Ledges. Remember that Secret Room on your left with the Ectoplasm that Harry opened in [2.1]? Let’s do that first. Cast Alohomora on the tile with the face. Go inside and cast Skurge on the Ecto and set free a rope underneath. Cast Diffindo on the rope. A latch behind Harry’s back will open revealing a Spongify Carpet. Also two panels in the opposite wall slide down. Alohomora – Skurge – Diffindo... ...and some changes occur in the Hall In one of the new rooms a chest is visible. Stand on the Carpet and cast Spongify on it. Jump on it and Harry will fly to that Secret Room. Open the chest and retrieve Harry’s silver Wizard Card #30: Artemisia Lufkin, 1754-1825, Minister for Magic. Turn right and descend the stairs to a second chest. Alohomora! This one contains a treasure of Beans. Turn around and jump down to the balcony on the 3rd floor. Wait for the Staircase and ride to the 2nd floor where Ron is still waiting. Now follow Ron to Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom. Myrtle is in the corridor of the toilets: Who’s that? Come to throw something else at me? The boys wonder if someone threw something at her. Yes, they did. It’s over there. Myrtle points at a book lying on the ground. Ron warns them: Careful! My dad told me some books can be very dangerous. The book is an old diary that belonged to T.M. Riddle. But whoever he was, he didn’t write in it. At once Harry hears a voice in his head. “Hello, Harry Potter. My name is Tom Riddle. I am at Hogwarts and horrible stuff’s been happening. Do you know about the Chamber of Secrets? (Of course I know about the Chamber of Secrets) In my fifth year, the Chamber was opened and the monster killed a girl. I caught the person who’d opened the Chamber and he was expelled. I can show you, if you like. I can take you inside my memory of the night when I caught him.” Harry was entranced by the memory of Tom Riddle showing him: A guy is trying to put something in a box in dark surroundings: C’mon now, gotta get yeh outta here... C’mon now... in the box... Tom Riddle approaches: Evening, Rubeus. I don’t think you meant to kill anyone, but monsters don’t make good pets. Rubeus Hagrid claims “he never killed no one”. But this Tom character is convinced of the contrary: The least Hogwarts can do is make sure the thing that killed that girl is slaughtered. Consequently, in the quarrel between Tom and Rubeus that followed, the thing that Rubeus was trying to smuggle outside manages to escape out of its box: a giant Spider! Harry had always known that Hagrid had an unfortunate liking for large, monstrous creatures. But he was equally certain that Hagrid would never mean to kill anybody. The Grounds [10.2] Hermione is talking with Ron by the fireplace at the Gryffindor Common Room: Riddle might have had the wrong person. Maybe some other monster was attacking people. Ron isn’t very convinced though. But everyone knew that Hagrid was expelled and the attacks must have stopped then. Otherwise, Riddle wouldn’t have got his award. Harry comes joining in: Riddle’s diary: it’s gone! Only a Gryffindor could have stolen it. Nobody else knows their password. Suddenly the place turns purple again (see also [2.1]): Kill this time... let me rip... tear... Apparently no one else but Harry has heard that frightening voice. But Hermione thinks she’s just understood something! She’s got to go to the Library! And although McGonagall said they had to stay in here unless they were in class, Harry’s got to talk to Hagrid. If he set the monster loose last time, he knows how to get inside the Chamber of Secrets. Ron replies that Hagrid’s hut is out in the grounds… Follow me, Harry! First open that chest again: it contains a Bean (it must have grown in there). Go out and follow Ron outside the Castle. It’s dark now. Before going any further, remember that Wizard Card in the alcove that we opened in [6.1]? We’ll have to open the alcove again. Turn right of the door but first cast Spongify on the Carpet at the corner. Jump to the Secret Ledge and capture a couple of Beans and the bronze Wizard Card #64: Jocunda Sykes, 1915-present, Flyer. Hop down and on your right you may cast Alohomora on the wall sign for a third time. Inside cast Diffindo on the vines and grab all the Beans on the grass and from the chest. Go out and descend the stairs on your right side. Turn right and cast Alohomora on the “S” sign on the wall. Now cast Diffindo on the branches that must have grown again overnight. Take the four Beans and open the chest with Alohomora for an extra Bean. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and run up the stairs, to your right again where you’ll see the charmed wall between the two trees by the wall. Climb up the stairs and gather all renewed Beans. Open the chest with Alohomora and take out one more Bean (you’ve taken the silver Card last time). Finally return to the plate and jump up. The alcove in the wall will open again. Go down the stairs and straight to the Carpet underneath the alcove. Cast Spongify on it and jump up. Grab a couple of Beans and your silver Wizard Card #45: Dunbar Oglethorpe, 1968-present, Chief of Quidditch. Before entering the grounds, again cast Alohomora on the two Banners of the Quidditch Towers (see [6.1]) and for a second time take out the renewed Beans from the Secret Room and the chest. Now follow Ron to the grounds: Sshh... I just saw someone who looks very much like Lucius Malfoy coming into Hagrid’s hut. Ron and Harry witness a conversation of Lucius Malfoy - the Chairman of the School Governors and father of Draco - with Hagrid Rubeus and Professor Aldus Dumbledore: Very bad Business, Hagrid, things have gone far enough I’ve simply got to act and send you away. Rubeus is afraid they’ll send him to Azbakan – the Wizard Prison. To Dumbledore: A dreadful thing, Dumbledore, but all twelve of the Governors feel it’s time for you to step aside. As of this moment, you are suspended as Headmaster of Hogwarts. Of course The Professor will step aside if the Governors want his removal: However, Lucius, you will find that I will only truly have left this school when none here are loyal to me. You will also find that help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it. Dumbledore and Malfoy leave the scene and Hagrid keeps mumbling: O’course, if anyone wanted to find out some stuff, all they’d have to do would be to follow the spiders. That’d lead ‘em right! Hagrid says the spiders are the key to the whole thing. Malfoy calls Hagrid. All right, I’m comin’. Ron and Harry get the creeps: We’re in trouble now. No Dumbledore. There’ll be an attack a day with him gone. Our heroes now notice how the spiders are heading for the Forbidden Forest through the door that has now opened (see [2.6]). Before Following Ron into the Forbidden Forest, open the chest for a nice load of Beans and proceed to the pigs’ lawn. Grab all of the Beans you can. Now follow Ron into the Forest. The Forbidden Forest [10.3] Ron is giving Harry a leg up since the ledge is too high to climb. Harry will have to brave the Forbidden Forest alone: Good luck, Harry! THE TWO LOGS The first thing Harry sees in the Forest is a Gargoyle. Past the corner the path ends at a long and deep trench. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. That will unveil two Spongify Carpets nearby. Also, unlike other locations, Harry’s Wand will stay lit for as long as he stays in the forest. When charmed, the lower Carpet will propel Harry to the opposite side of the trench. But you don’t want that for now. Climb the octagonal block and cast Spongify on the Carpet. Jump far to a log on your left side and look down. Cast Rictusempra on the giant Spider and descend. Cast Diffindo on the spider web that prevents the log from dropping down in the trench. On the opposite side two Bowtruckles are hiding, if you look well you can spot them behind the tree and the log. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and jump to the opposite log from where you can cast Diffendo on each of the buggers. Harry may get tremendously harmed here, so act quickly! Come down and pick up two parts of Wiggentree Bark. Cast Diffindo on the spider web and cast Alohomora on the chest for a number of Beans. Turn around and cast Diffindo on the web that prevents a second log from falling down. That also unveils a charmed square hiding a Spongify Carpet. Charm the Carpet and the jump will bring you down on the second log. Jump to the first log and turn right; notice a Flipendo sign on the rock. Cast Flipendo on it and a Secret Room will become accessible. In this foggy Room take some Beans and open the chest with Alohomora. You’ll receive the silver Wizard Card #16: Cliodne, Medieval, Irish Druidess. THE BRIDGE CAVERN Go out and proceed past the second log; take a Chocolate Frog. Around the curved corner you’ll notice a guardian Tentacula, a freak with 4 arms! Sever its arms one by one and enter this small garden. Cast Diffindo on the vine that’s blocking an entrance. When you walk up the bridge it will collapse and Harry tumbles down to an area full of Horklumps Mushrooms. You can hear the grumbling sound of Gnomes though. There is a hole sealed off by plant growth on your left. Cast Diffindo on it and two Gnomes will evade and take care of all of the Horklumps. When all Mushrooms are turned into Beans, stun each gnome with Flipendo and throw him into the hole. Climb the charmed ledges on your left and save by the book. THE HOLLOW TREE [10.4] Harry is facing a spider web. Clear the entrance with Diffindo and immediately cast Rictusempra on the giant Spider that will attack. There are two more spider webs to unravel with Diffindo. Watch out for lots of (harmless, but pesky) spiders. You’ll be entering another foggy area and when you leave the hole there’s one more giant Spider to stun with Rictusempra as well as a couple of Cornish Pixies that will fly in from your left. Behold a giant hollow tree in front of Harry. Some kind of Sequoia. On your right side there is a bronze Card on top of a branch that you can’t reach yet. Take a right along a narrow ledge and notice a Carpet at the end. Cast Spongify on it and use it to jump to a next ledge with a Carpet. The Beans indicate the direction in which to perform your Spongify jumps. Repeat this kind of jump four times more until you’ll end up on a low branch. Turn left while making this last jump so Harry will nicely land near the entrance. Jump inside the hollow tree and eat the Chocolate Frog down there. Spongify the Carpet and jump to the top. Make sure you’ll land on the branch with the bronze Card. Capture your bronze Wizard Card #57: Gifford Ollerton, 1390-1441, Giant-slayer. Now you don’t want to drop down fainted so you’ll better jump down from the Carpeted ledges outside the tree and return to the foot of the tree the same way as you did before. Jump to the charmed ledge inside the tree and to the opposite branch. THE CAVERN WITH THREE SPIDERS Cast Diffindo twice on a spider web. You’ll be entering a cave full of webs and three giant Spiders. On your left and right you’ll notice such a Spider crawling behind a web. Cast Diffindo on each web and immediately stun the attacking Spider with Rictusempra. Remove the third web and climb the blocks. Remove more webs until you’ll see a third web hiding a Spider. Cast Diffindo on this web and immediately stun the Spider that will attack. When the three Spiders are stunned a hatch turns down and forms a bridge to a Secret Room. Turn around and jump down. Enter the Room, grab the Beans, open the chest with Alohomora and earn the silver Wizard Card #65: Gondoline Oliphant, 1720-1799, Researcher. This is Harry’s 40th and last silver Card! Cast Diffindo on the last web, grab the Beans, eat the Frog and some spiky blocks will drop down and seal off the way back. THE WATERFALLS Turn around and cast Alohomora on a chest. This one will provide the bronze Wizard Card #25: Perpetua Fancourt, 1900-1991, Inventor Witch. Cast Spongify on the Carpet and cross the void to a block. Climb the next block and one of the Imps may jump in the water and try to come after Harry. Jump to the shallow water and proceed behind the rock until you notice a chest. Go inside the Secret Area and open the chest with Alohomora. Take out the Beans, climb the steps and immediately stun each of the Imps. Throw them in their hole and save by the book. THE FOLDABLE TREE [10.5] Cast Diffindo on the branches that block your way to the next passage. Follow the track of Beans and cast Rictusempra twice on those three tougher giant Spiders. Harry’s way is then blocked by a new set of branches with 3 Bowtruckles behind it. Run in and immediately cast Diffendo on one and run out again. Repeat on the second Spirit and finally get rid of the third. Pick up the three parts of Wiggentree Bark and eat the Chocolate Frog. Cast Diffindo on the rope by the tree and all of its branches will unfold (a phony Christmas tree?). Climb the tree steps. Cast Diffindo on the vine in the entrance on the ledge and enter. You’ll notice an arrow with a Flipendo sign on it. All you see is a big shaft with a central pillar and millions of webs. Act like the arrow is suggesting: cast Flipendo in that direction. Now the pillar sinks and you can jump to its top. Look up to a hole in the roof. Charm the Spongify Carpet under Harry’s feet and jump to the hole. Upstairs go out and hop to the tree branch, cast Diffindo on the web and open the chest with Alohomora. That will give Harry the bronze Wizard Card #86: Dorcas Wellbeloved, 1812-1904, Founder. Jump to the lower branches and to the path with the next chest. THE TREE BRIDGE Cast Diffindo on the spider web blocking the way to the Horklumps Mushrooms and then open the chest with Alohomora. No Card this time but a... Gnome! The Gnome will take care of the Mushrooms. Follow him and when he’s finished, stun him and throw him in the hole opposite to the chest. Continue, grab all the Beans and you’ll see a second Flipendo arrow. Cast Flipendo on the tree and it will fall down, thus forming a bridge to the opposite side. Walk the bridge and it will fall down before Harry reaches the other end. Turn around, cast Diffindo on the branches and enter a Secret Cave with a chest. Cast Alohomora on the chest and acquire the bronze Wizard Card #19: Newt Scamander, 1897-present, Author. This is Harry’s 49th bronze Card, still one more to find! Walk to the other end of the tree and cast Diffindo on the branches on each side. First jump to the ledge on your right and cast Flipendo on two bottles of Flobberworm Mucous. Collect the two parts of Muke. Then hop to the other ledge and mix some more of your Wiggenweld Potions in the smoking cauldron. Return to the tree bridge and cast Diffindo on the spider web. Enter and your game will automatically be saved. The Lair of Aragog [10.6] Harry arrives at a immensely huge cavern full of Spiders and webs. This is the Lair of Aragog: Is it Hagrid? Harry says he’s a friend of Hagrid’s and came to help him. Aragog wonders why Hagrid needs help? Harry explains that Hagrid released a monster long ago in Hogwarts – at least that’s what some say. It killed someone and it must have come back. I’ve never gone back, says Aragog, and I’ve never hurt anyone in Hogwarts. Harry: So you’re not the Guardian of the Chamber of Secrets? Aragog: No. The Guardian is an ancient creature that Spiders fear above all others. It killed the girl in the bathroom, not I. Harry thanks Aragog and thinks he should go now. But Aragog prevents Harry from leaving: I cannot deny my children such fresh meat. Goodbye, friend of Hagrid. Now Harry has to think very fast. If I cut those support webs with Diffindo, I bet Aragog will fall into the pit! Start running and make a full circle, casting Diffindo on each support web, and try to avoid the spiders that will attack Harry. When all support webs are cut Aragog’s web will fall down. Now you’ll have to beat Aragog. Keep watching his life meter in the lower left corner. When Aragog rises up you'll notice a Rictusempra sign on his belly. Continuously Cast Rictusempra while you’re strafing left or right. Better stick to one direction and keep going in circles. When Aragog’s gone Harry realizes at least he learned something from Lockhart’s class. Rictusempra! And suddenly Ron comes flying in with the Anglia: Amazing work, Harry! But Hermione’s been attacked! She’s been petrified like the others. They should get back as soon as possible! Now let's head for... Level 11! Level 11: Gold Rush The Infirmary [11.1] Harry is standing on the balcony of the 4th floor in the Hall of Floating Ledges and Ron is waiting on him by the entrance of the Infirmary. Follow Ron and go visit Hermione who is lying in bed petrified after the attack. I better not let Madam Pomfrey see me. There’s Hermione. What’s that she’s holding? It’s a note, in her handwriting: “Of the many fearsome beasts and monsters that roam our land, there is none more deadly than the Basilisk, the King of Serpents.” “This Snake, which may reach gigantic size and live hundreds of years, is born from a chicken’s egg, hatched beneath a toad.” “Aside from its deadly and venomous fangs, the Basilisk has a horrible stare, and all who are fixed with the beam of its eye shall suffer instant death.” “Spiders flee before the Basilisk, for it is their mortal enemy. The Basilisk flees only from the crowing of the rooster, which is fatal to it.” Ron: But how’s the Basilisk been getting around the place? A giant snake? Someone would have seen. Pipes... Ron, it’s been using the plumbing. I’ve been hearing that voice inside the walls. That girl who died... Aragog said she was found in a Bathroom. What if she never left the Bathroom? What if she’s still there? Ron: You don’t think --- not Moaning Myrtle? The entrance to the Chamber of Secrets! What if it’s in... Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom!! Suddenly a voice is calling: All students are to return to their House dormitories at once. All teachers return to the staff room. Immediately, please! Oh no! Not another attack! Yes, there had been another attack, the worst one yet. This time someone had disappeared. It was Ginny Weasley! And another message was left on a wall. It said: “Her skeleton will lie in the Chamber forever” Hogwarts would surely close now. Professor Lockhart had been given the task of rescuing Ginny, but Ron and Harry were beside themselves with worry. They had to do something. They’re suddenly running down the stairs: Hurry, Harry! We have to save Ginny! Harry: I’ll go to Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom and try to find the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets. Ron: And I’ll go find Lockhart. It wouldn’t surprise me if he were trying to sneak out of Hogwarts! The Chamber with Four Locks Take the first Staircase and enter the Chamber with Four Locks. Harry has gathered his complete set of 40 silver Wizard Cards and when he approaches the Door with Four Locks the last Lock is also released. THE CIRCULAR HALL OF WIZARDS (1) [11.2] Harry enters a Circular Hall full of curtains hiding larger images of gold Wizards. Make a full circle until you’ll arrive at the exit on your right side featuring a save book. Each time Harry will have captured a gold Wizard Card its living 3D image will be unveiled from behind a curtain in the Circular Hall of gold Wizards. Harry will be momentarily on a timed mission and should you run out of time, you’ll be starting again from this Circular Hall of Wizards. You will then see in 3D the Wizards on the gold Cards that you have collected so far. You may then save by the save book once again and this save block will then become block [11.3bis]). Now save. [11.3] Proceed to the red carpet to engage the Gold Rush timer. You’ll get a golden timer in the lower right corner to complete Harry’s goal: collecting 11 gold Wizard Cards! You’ll have to be fast though! You’ll be hearing a clock ticking! Each gold Card is obtained in small mission. Accomplishing the mission as fast as you can is a must. A number of these actions can be performed in two ways, a regular and a fast way, a kind of short cut so to speak. Finding the short cut is part of the fun in this Level since there are no Secret Rooms. THE ROOM WITH FOUR CRABS Regular: Harry will enter a Room with four Fire Crabs each sitting on top of a pillar. Quickly cast Rictusempra on each of them and kick them off their pillars with Flipendo. A bridge will slide in Harry’s direction. Jump to the bridge and run to the gold Card. Short cut: Jump from the edge to a lower ledge with a Spongify Carpet and cast Spongify on it. Jump and fly straight to your first gold Wizard Card #69: Bertie Bott, 1935-present, Inventor of Beans. THE TOWER OF FLOATING BLOCKS Cast Alohomora on the door lock and enter a Tower with an octagonal central pillar. Jump to the floating block, and that will glide upward meeting a new floating block. Jump from block to block till the top of the pillar (note: if you miss a block and should tumble down, climb the ledges and start all over). Seize the second gold Wizard Card #101: Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts. Cast Diffindo on each of both ropes that are suspending a draw-bridge and cross the bridge. THE ROOM WITH THE RISING BLOCK Cast Diffindo on a spider web on your right. Descend some stairs, and cast Diffindo on a second spider web. On your left is a room with a gold Card above a colored block. When Harry approaches the Card the block will rise. The block is too high to jump on, so turn back and climb the high steps on either side of the room. On top of the staircase run and jump to the raised block and capture the third gold Wizard Card #41: Godric Gryffindor, Medieval, dates unknown, Co-founder of Hogwarts. Now the block will lower down. Leave the room from the exit on your right. THE HALL OF ECTOPLASMS You’ll see a cross wheel blocked by a sparkling rope. Cast Diffindo on the rope and the grilled door on Harry’s left side will go up. Run down the stairs into a room full of steps with Ectoplasms on top. Regular: Climb upwards and cast Skurge on some of the blobs that are sitting in your way. There is a gold Card on top of the blocks. Short cut: Turn right and notice a suspicious looking painting. Cast Alohomora on it and the painting will slide upwards. Go in, stand on the plate and cast Diffindo on the rope that blocks an elevator. Harry will go up to the second floor. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. Now Harry can cross a charmed bridge to the fourth gold Wizard Card #11: Herpo the Foul, Ancient Greek, creator of the Basilisk. THE PASSAGE WITH TWO CRABS Regular: Go out and on your right you’ll be attacked by two giant Fire Crabs. Quickly stun each Crab with Rictusempra and pass them by on your run to the gold Card. Short cut: Don’t bother with stunning the damned Crabs! Before going in promptly Spongify the Carpet and jump to it. Harry will take a high jump past those Crabs to his fifth gold Wizard Card # 48: Salazar Slytherin, Medieval, Co-founder of Hogwarts. THE FIRST LONG CORRIDOR Cast Skurge on the Ectoplasm on your left. Regular: Run all along the corridor to the gold Card. Short cut: Enter and cast Alohomora on the floor lock and a hatch will open that unveils a Spongify Carpet. Cast Spongify and launch Harry all the way to the opposite side where he will earn his sixth gold Wizard Card #72: Helga Hufflepuff, dates unknown, co-founder of Hogwarts. THE TOWER OF CHARMED LEDGES Turn left and cast Alohomora on the door lock. Inside climb from ledge to ledge until you’ll reach a balcony with another door with a lock. Cast Alohomora on the lock and enter a dark circus with a central pillar. Turn right to a room with a Gargoyle. Cast Lumos on the statue and the circus will turn into a deep tower full of charmed ledges. Jump down from the ledges and visit an alcove containing your seventh gold Wizard Card #74: Montague Knightley, 1506-1588, Wizard Chess Champion. Continue all the way down from the ledges. THE STAIRCASE WITH FOUR BLOCKS Cast Diffindo on a rope that blocks another cross wheel. That’ll open the door on your left. Go down the stairs, turn right and enter a room with a huge staircase with four blocks carrying Flipendo signs. These blocks can be pushed to either corner of the step, by casting Flipendo on the side sign. Regular: Cast Flipendo on the left side of the floor block. The block will move to the right side and both gates on the first step will open. Climb from the block to the first step and cast Flipendo on the second block. This block will move to the left side. The gates on the second step open up. Go on until you’ve got the 4th block on the left side of the step and climb from the block to the balcony with two fire Crabs. Promptly stun them with Rictusempra. Cast Diffindo on the spider web and Skurge on one of two floor blobs. Cast Diffindo on the spider web on your left. Skurge on one floor Blob. Diffindo on the next web. Skurge on the blob. Diffindo on the web. Then cast Rictusempra on two Fire Crabs and when they’re lying on their back, cast Diffindo on the rope that will release the door and behind the corner on your left is the gold Card. Short cut: Cast Flipendo on the right side of the lowest block, and find your way up to the 4th floor in the natural sequence. Climb from the block to the upper balcony and grab your eighth gold Wizard Card #15: Paracelsus, 1493-1541, Medical Genius. THE SECOND LONG CORRIDOR Regular: exit and go down the stairs, go left, left, down the second staircase, turn right and follow the long purple carpet to that gold Card. Short cut: Go out the door and turn around: cast Diffindo on the rope above the door. That will open two gates on your right with a Spongify Carpet. Cast Spongify, jump and... fly to your ninth gold Wizard Card #40: Carlotta Pinkstone, 1922-present, Campaigner. THE ROOM WITH THREE BLOCKS Cast Alohomora on the door lock, turn right, run up the stairs, turn left and enter a room with three Flipendo blocks. Cast Flipendo on the blocks such that the raised blocks on the opposite side will allow Harry to climb up to the high ledges with the gold Card and the exit. Climb up and seize the gold Wizard Card #82: Rowena Ravenclaw, Medieval, dates unknown, co-founder of Hogwarts. This is Harry’s 10th gold Card: one more to find! THE HALL OF MANY CARPETS Jump to the opposite ledge, turn right, climb the stairs, and Harry will arrive at an octagonal towering room with a rope. That will shuffle the octagonal panel on the floor and release a Spongify Carpet. Regular: Charm the Carpet and jump high on the ledge with another Carpet. Cast Spongify on this Carpet and make a new long jump to a next Carpet. Repeat this until you’ll end up with a gold Card. Short cut: Spongify each Carpet while in flight; this way Harry will keep jumping without interruption. Repeat these jumps until you may acquire your 11th and final gold Wizard Card #100: Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Now I’m asking you: isn’t that touching? Click on Harry Potter to activate gold Card #100! THE CIRCULAR HALL OF WIZARDS (2) Leave through the door and after a re-load Harry will enter the circular Hall of Wizards again. Take a moment to admire all of those nice three-dimensional living Portraits of gold Wizards! Left of Harry’s Portrait is the good old save book. Better save your game. Now let's head for... Level 12! Level 12: The Chamber of Secrets A conversation with Moaning Myrtle [12.1] Leave the Circular Hall of Wizards and go the floor of Moaning Myrtle’s Bathroom. What do you want this time? Says Myrtle. Harry wants to ask Myrtle how she died. And Myrtle replies: You’re the first one who ever asked. I died in this very stall. I remember it so well. The door was locked, and I was crying because Olive Hornby has teased me about my glasses. Then I heard somebody come in. They said something odd, in a different language, I think…and it was a boy speaking! So I unlocked the door to tell him to go and use his own bathroom, and then... I died. Over there by the sinks. One of them has never worked, not as long as I’ve been here. Harry wonders if that’s where the entrance to the Chamber is: Open! Open! That’s not working. Maybe if I try Parseltongue. Now Ron and Lockhart come in: Got him! He was packed and ready to go... I think it’s the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets! Lockhart: Well, then, you won’t be needing me. Cheers, boys, have to go warm up my broom. Ron gets angry: You’re not through yet. Down you go. C’mon, Harry. This is it! The Entrance to the Chamber of Secrets [12.2] The boys and Lockhart enter in here and Ron is warning: Harry, there’s something up there. But Lockhart feels faint: “the adventure ends here boys”. And he goes on: Say goodbye to your memories! Obliviate! Some thick heavy rocks fall down and Harry wants to know if Ron is Okay? But Ron is fine: ...go and find Ginny, Harry! Harry: Wait there with Lockhart. If I’m not back in an hour... Anyway, see you in a bit! THE ELEVATOR SHAFT Harry runs up the stairs and he is now standing inside a sort of Tower with an open shaft in the middle. There are 4 Ectoplasms that are blocking entrances and you can hear the farting sounds of Fire Crabs... Cast Skurge on the first Ectoplasm on your left, go in and immediately stun a giant Fire Crab twice with your Rictusempra Spell. There is a second entrance that is blocked by an Ecto. Cast Skurge on that thing. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and leave this room by the exit you’ve just set free. Jump to the other ledge and cast Skurge to remove another Ectoplasm. Stun the Fire Crab in there and cast a number of Flipendo to get it in the deep void down there. On the opposite side of the void there is another Fire Crab. Stun that one too before it gets nasty with Harry. Jump to the opposite side and throw that Crab in the deep as well, so you’ll be at ease now! You’ll notice a charmed wall. Open the chest in the Secret Room and a Choc Frog will hop out. You’ll probably need that one! And have some Beans. Go out and cast Spongify on the Carpet in the circular Hall. Harry will jump to the centrally suspended ledge and go down with it. On the lowest floor you’ll notice some closed grilled doors. Jump off on a higher floor where there is a chest. Get some Beans out of that chest and move on to the other chest. Take the Beans out of that one too. Now jump back on that ledge and ride to the lower floor where you’ll hop off. See that save book over there? First turn left and notice a Flipendo sign on the wall. Cast Flipendo on that sign and the doors will lift giving access to two cauldrons. Cast Flipendo on the cauldrons and have some more Beans. Go to the book and save. THE SEWERS [12.3] Harry is in the sewers now. Cast Diffindo on a spider web that is spread on the floor. Jump down. You’ll have to quickly stun three giant Spiders in there! Around the corner there are two more Spiders, stun these buggers too! Now there are bottles with Flobberworm Mucous and Wiggentree Bark. Get them out with Flipendo. Explore the room and you’ll see a window that is blocked by an Ectoplasm. Cast Skurge on that thing. You’ll notice how certain hatches will go up and down. Go in here. There is a Spongify Carpet: look up and you will see a square that you can jump to. Spongify the Carpet and jump up to the ledge. Now jump down from the ledge. You will see how round panels are coming down. Try to get past these. The third one is really hard. Go inside and eat the Choc Frog. [12.4] Blocks are falling down when you go in. Cast Magic on a high Flipendo sign and another block will come down. Go to your right: there are some Beans on the upper floor. Jump up and take those Beans. Cast Spongify on the Carpet. Face the grotto and jump up to a high ledge. Walls will close quickly, so better run and cast Diffindo on that web. When the walls have come together, go inside and open a chest with Alohomora. Take out a Chocolate Frog and some Beans. Jump down and turn left where there is an Ectoplasm. Hear that wild music now? Cast Skurge on the Ecto. Now there’s a spider web: cast Diffindo on the web. Jump down and turn left: cast Diffindo on another web and notice a save book. First turn around, however. Cast Diffindo on a spider web. Then, cast Alohomora on a chest and take some Beans. Then, save by the book. THE PIXIES HALL [12.5] Harry goes left and can flip over a cauldron that contains Beans and a Chocolate Frog (sometimes that Frog is not there). There is another cauldron on the right side. Now jump down and take Beans and another Choc Frog out of that cauldron. Harry will now arrive at a Hall full of Cornish Pixies and a nasty Fire Crab on a pedestal. A camera view will show a sparkling rope on the wall above a sealed entrance to a sewer pipe. Keep that in mind. Get rid of all the Pixies first! Continuously run to your right and run back when a Pixie comes flying in. Quickly cast Rictusempra and run away before the Fire Crab hits you. You can’t get that rotten Fire Crab from here but it surely can hit Harry! Just run around and don’t fall in the void! On your left side there is a lower ledge with a Carpet. Should you fall, get back upstairs with the Spongify Spell on the Carpet. When all Pixies are gone go right and cast Lumos on the Gargoyle. That’ll charm a ledge! Now cast Spongify on the Carpet near the Gargoyle and jump to the charmed ledge. You can then cast Lumos on the next Gargoyle and Spongify on the Carpet. Jump to the next ledge. Cast Spongify on a next Carpet and jump to a higher ledge. There are three Imps. Stun them and throw them into their hole. Go up the stairs and you’ll meet an elevator. Don’t take that elevator. Pick up the Beans from the floor and cast Diffindo on the rope that you had to keep in mind. Cast Flipendo on the sign on the wall, and Harry may jump in there. A small elevator will bring him right in front of a Secret Room with a chest. Open the chest with Alohomora and acquire a Chocolate Frog and a number of BB Beans. Now you can get rid of that awful Fire Crab. Cast Rictusempra to flip the bugger on its back and push it off his pedestal with Flipendo. There is a Carpet on that lower ledge should you fall down there. The Spongify Spell will bring Harry to the Gargoyles once again, so you can return all the way to this place. Spongify the Carpet that the Crab was sitting on and jump to the sewer pipe that just has opened. Proceed and cast Flipendo on the Flipendo sign on the ceiling between two sealed entrance doors. Empty the two cauldrons. Run in the pipe, something will fall down and your game will be automatically saved. THE SPONGIFY ROOM [12.6] Harry is standing in a corridor and he’ll notice a bunch of fire Crabs walking up and down in the next room. You’ll have to act fast here. There are two blocks with a Flipendo sign that you’ll have to push aside (with Flipendo). Stun the Crabs and push one on each Crab plate that has unveiled. That will lower some suspended ledges higher up. There is a small room on the other side with a Flipendo sign. Cast Flipendo on it, jump in there and cast Spongify on the Carpet. Jump up from the Carpet. There you’ll find two Imps and a Cornish Pixie... pretty terrible huh? Stun the Imps and throw them into their holes. That will open an alcove with a Gargoyle. Cast Flipendo on two cauldrons for their Beans, and grab a number of Beans in front of the Gargoyle. There are also two bottles to open with Flipendo: Flobberworm Mucous and Wiggentree Bark. On the opposite side of the Gargoyle there is a room with a Flipendo sign. Cast Flipendo on it and the floor hatch will open: there is a Carpet down there. Now cast Lumos on the Gargoyle, and charm the Carpet with Spongify. Jump on the Carpet and Harry will go up. Watch out for Pixies though. Run and jump from one ledge to the other. Cast Flipendo on a wall sign, cast Spongify on the Carpet down there and jump up to a corridor with BB Beans. Go in left: there is a Secret Room with a chest. Cast Alohomora and take out a number of Beans. Grab the Choc Frog in the opposite room. Jump down the charmed floor further on. Cast Diffindo on each of two ropes in a square hole. Harry will lower all the way down. Go to the save book and save your game! THE FINAL BRONZE WIZARD CARD [12.7] Harry is in the sewers again and this time there are some giant Orange snails in there! If you cast Rictusempra on each Snail, something will happen. You will see how Snails fall down in the trap doors. Push both Snails on the trap doors so they will drop down. Look up: there is your last bronze Wizard Card! Go to the next corridor where there is a Spongify Carpet. Look up and cast Rictusempra twice on each of both “sweet” Cornish Pixies. There are floating ledges that go up and down. Jump on the first ledge and cast Diffindo on a rope that you see hanging on the wall. That will lower down the ledge with the bronze Card. Jump to the second ledge and cast Magic on the rope as well. Jump down from the ledge and take the Beans. Go right and take care of two more Cornish Pixies. Jump down, there is a Carpet down there. Spongify the Carpet and apply it to jump on the first floating ledge. Cast Diffindo on the rope. The ledge with the bronze Card will lower again. Jump to the second ledge. Cast Diffindo on the rope and the ledge with the bronze Card will now completely lower down. Jump to the ledge with the Beans and take them. Jump down. On your right you will see the bronze Card. Climb the beam and take your 50th and final bronze Wizard Card #91: Wifred Elphick, 1112-1199, First Wizard to be gored by an African Erumpent. Hurray! 50 bronze Cards... and 6 life meters! Important: If you didn't find all the bronze, silver and gold Wizard Cards, just click on this appendix to see where you can find all the Wizard Cards! Continue and jump down. Cast Flipendo on a cauldron for some Beans and on your left you will get another save book. THE ROLLING BLOCK [12.8] Harry must jump down here and there is a large rock that will squeeze him! You must run for the rock and cast Diffindo on the vines! Harry will fall down and you may cast Flipendo on a bottle of Flobberworm Mucous and of Wiggentree Bark and get the goodies out of there. Save! THE SWING [12.9] Harry Will experience how a hatch will open. You’ll get a view of a far away door with a snake drawing. That is the door to the Chamber of Secrets! Cast Diffindo on the rope you see in front of you. That will launch a swing. If you fall off the swing and tumble down, don’t care about these two Fire Crabs. Just go in left and ascend. Cast Lumos on the Gargoyle and enter the ledge from where you may jump to the swing. When you jump off the swing at the opposite side the door will open and your game will be saved. THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS [12.10] Harry must first pass a number of fire bursts that are erupted from snake heads. Go in right and grab two Mukes and a Bark, and then go to the other room and mix some more Wiggenweld Potions in the smoky cauldron... you’re gonna need those! Now there’s another save book here, those come fast, huh? THE BASILISK [12.11] Harry is standing on a ledge in front of a horrible statue: a face with an open mouth. He jumps down and finds Ginny fainted next to the diary of Tom Riddle. Then, Tom Riddle’s Ghost comes in! Tom Riddle is the Heir of Slytherin: Little Ginny’s been writing in my diary for months. She poured out her soul to me. I made me stronger until I had enough power to pour a little of my soul back into her. Harry: “What do you mean”? Ginny Weasley opened the Chamber of Secrets, just as I had long ago... before I became... Lord Voldemort. It is me, Harry. Ginny told me all about you. I’m afraid that your 2nd year magic tricks will be worthless against the power of the greatest Sorcerer of the world!! Harry: “The greatest Sorcerer in the world is Albus Dumbledore.” Dumbledore is gone! Now I’m going to teach you a lesson. Let’s match the powers of Tom Riddle, Heir of Slytherin, against the famous Harry Potter. Suddenly the Phoenix of Albus Dumbledore comes flying in. Fawkes! He is carrying a sword in his paws and drops it at Harry’s feet! A sword... from Dumbledore, no doubt, afraid to come himself. Well, I don’t save you, Harry Potter! Harry’s got a sword in his hands now. Tom is facing the Basilisk: Speak to me, Slytherin, greatest of Hogwarts four! Tom wants Harry killed by the Basilisk! But Tom Riddle gets outrageous: No! You can still smell the boy! You can still kill him! Kill him now! Harry has to defeat the Basilisk. Load your sword and aim at the snake. If you’ll hit it, it will spit venom at Harry. Fortunately you’ve mixed lots of Wiggenweld Potions! When the monster is defeated it will re-incarnate and this time it will emerge from floor openings instead of from the statue’s mouth. Watch the purple venom drops. When Harry has defeated the Basilisk, Ginny will wake up: Harry... I wanted to tell you... It was me, I didn’t mean to... Riddle made me do it! Harry: it’s all right. Riddle’s finished. C’mon Ginny, let’s get out of here. In Dumbledore’s Office [12.12] Harry enters Dumbledore’s Office: Professor Dumbledore! I thought you’d be suspended. Dumbledore: Lucius Malfoy had threatened to curse the Board if they didn’t remove me. But they decided to stand up to him. Now that the Heir is gone and the Basilisk is destroyed, they know Hagrid is innocent, too. He’ll be back in his hut soon. Ron asks about Lucius Malfoy. Will he cause any more trouble? Dumbledore doubts it: We can assume it was him who got the diary to Ginny. He daren’t to do it again unless he wants the Ministry of Magic after him. Harry: About Professor Lockhart…I’m afraid he’s lost his memory. Dumbledore: Oh dear. What will he think about now that he can’t think about himself? Just don’t give his job to Professor Snape. He’s too…um, valuable as a Potions teacher. Dumbledore: You’ve all performed brilliantly. It must have been a terrible experience. Ron: It was. We spent much more time in a girl’s bathroom than I would have liked. Hermione: Being petrified was awful, but I learned a great deal from it. I’m going to write a paper about it for extra credit. Harry: When you’ve got your friends to help you, you can accomplish anything, and nothing is too awful. Well... almost nothing. Looking like Goyle came close. Prof. Dumbledore invites our friends to a banquet downstairs: What do you propose for the first toast? Ron: To friendship... Hermione: ...Loyalty Harry: ...and courage. But friendship most of all! And another cut scene comes in. The rest of the final term passed in a haze of blazing sunshine. Hogwarts was back to normal with only a few, small differences. Defense Against the Dark Arts classes were cancelled and Lucius Malfoy had been sacked as a school Governor. Draco was no longer strutting around the school as though he owned the place. On the contrary, he looked resentful and sulky. On the other hand, Ginny Weasley was perfectly happy again. The House Cup Ceremony Harry, Ron and Hermione meet at the top of the Monumental Staircase: Yeah, the only thing left to do is the House Cup Ceremony in the Great Hall. If you have anything you want to do at Hogwarts you better do it before you go to the House Cup Ceremony. One good thing to do is go save your game. Proceed to the spiral staircase of the Gryffindor Common Room, pass the portrait of the Pink Lady and save in the book by the fireplace. Also, open that chest again for a Bean. [12.13] Leave the Gryffindor Common room and go down the Monumental Staircase. Enter the Great Hall on your left. Attention please! Students, attention! The Headmaster wants to address you. This House Cup Ceremony brings the school year to an end... ...and an eventful year it was. Without further ado, I shall now present the Cup to the Hogwarts House with the most points. First place and the House Cup goes to... Gryffindor! Gryffindor wins! And all stories must come to an end... congratulations! You’ve just successfully finished Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets! Yet would this really be the end??? I don't think so!!! How about loading the game again from your final saved game and playing in the Debug mode? There is a Secret Level in that mode that couldn't be accessed from the Normal mode of the game. You can then play this Level just as any other Level. Read all about the Debug mode and find the walkthrough for this mysterious Secret Level, so quickly go to... Level 13: Gryffindor Challenge (The Secret Level) INTRODUCTION  Hidden Areas The game setting for a 3D game is like a jigsaw puzzle that has a geometrical shape. These puzzle pieces– the game areas – have to fit as tightly as possible. With the first four Tomb Raider games this body was a cube divided into smaller cubes. These areas fit tightly together, so there are no empty spaces. However, with the Harry Potter games that body isn’t a cube but – say, a sphere. Hence, there are always spaces and these areas are sealed off with the default game play. The designers usually fill these empty spaces though with all kinds of creative stuff using their imagination. The game makers need access to any part of the game without having to play a whole section. There may be a bug to be fixed or... whatever. They have a built-in cheat code for that and in this Harry Potter game that particular code is the Debug mode. Debug mode The debug mode adds one button to the controls of the game: the Delete key. Other useful buttons for the debug mode are F4 to select a level, F6 to get full health, and F9 to automatically learn all spells, but these are not of our concern here, as cheating during game play takes all of the fun away. I don’t encourage cheating in my walkthroughs. When playing in Debug mode Harry plays just the same as in Normal mode. However, by pressing Delete the Debug mode is activated which has the following effect: The controls by the key arrows and mouse convert to first person view and you can then explore the entire sphere and all of its clusters. You’re simply navigating a camera in a 3-D computer graphic environment. Hence, you can pass through all obstacles like walls, floors, and ceilings; go up and down, in circles, etc. When you pass the boundaries of the sphere the screen becomes black because there is nothing there, so you simply backtrack and you’re back within the sphere. But now comes the interesting part. Wherever you stop in whatever spot of an area and you press Delete again, Harry materializes at that spot in the real environment of the game! I know of at least a couple of such sealed off areas that Harry cannot enter: a kind of cave without any opening and a large area that contains an entire Level!   Now the purpose is to find a way to get into this huge area and play that Level! Secret Level This Level is hidden behind a door that Harry cannot open during normal game play. It can only be entered in the Debug mode. It now becomes clear that the Harry Potter games are very complicated games that may be played on different levels of difficulty. Children play the games for fun collecting Wizard Cards and secret seekers who are real computer enthusiasts look for Secret Levels. Now why have the game designers hidden this Level so well? Was it a Level that they did not find satisfactory, but did not want to delete it? Was it the first ever Challenge they created? Would they purposely open a way for the real Aficionados to discover this Level? My guess is a combination of all. A real computer wizard is interested in some of the game Directory files and with a boot process there is a BOOT.ini written in Wordpad with all kinds of data determining the boot process. There is such a GAME.ini in the System folder of the game Directory as well. When reading this text, most items end in “=True”, but some end in “=False”. One of these data is “bDebugMode=False”. This explains two things: firstly the Debug in their current game mode is disabled by default. Secondly, replacing False by True would enable the Debug mode. Conversion into Debug Mode First let’s convert the game into Debug mode. Open Windows Explorer and look for the installed Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets directory in the left hand part of the Window. Click on the + prefix and all folders will unfold. Click on the System folder and all its files will appear on the right side of the Window. Somewhere in the middle you’ll find the file GAME.ini   Double click on that and the text of the file appears. Go to the bottom of the (long) file. Counting from the bottom up the third paragraph is: [HGame.baseConsole] bDebugMode=False bUseSystemFonts=True Highlight False and type True: [HGame.baseConsole] bDebugMode=True bUseSystemFonts=True   When you go out of the GAME.ini text a window will now ask if you want to keep the changes. Select yes. Now you’re ready to play Harry in Debug mode. So in order to enter that sealed off area where the Gryffindor Challenge is located, you must go in there in activated Debug mode and materialize Harry in there. Then deactivate, so you can play that Level after all like any other Level, and this is what we intend to do here. Finally, as a precaution, copy the last saved game [12.13] of the slot you have played the game in, to at least two other slots or to a folder of your choice. Start the game from your regular slot and load the game. You’ll automatically load the last save block of the game. THE GRYFFINDOR CHALLENGE Preparation [13.1] You will find Harry standing by the fire in the Gryffindor Common Room near the Save Book he just used. Note there are small green letters in the front right corner now indicating you’re playing in the Debug mode. Also Harry will only have the first of his stamina lightning symbols operative out of six in the upper right corner. However, if you still have Wiggenweld potions in your inventory, you can use them and fill up the lightning symbols – one per bottle. Run all the way up the stairs again until you reach the upper balcony and turn right. This door was not accessible in the game, remember? That is the sealed off entrance to the Gryffindor challenge.   The Secret Entrance Now face the door and press Delete and then press Upper Arrow. The view will turn into first person and you will penetrate the door. Once inside the room behind the door release the Upper Arrow and press Delete again to get Harry back to normal. The game will then load. There are 10 Challenge Stars and 9 Secrets to be found. The Secrets constitute hidden rooms that upon entering produce a typical sound of chimes. At each moment the number of discovered Secrets can be checked on the menu by pressing Esc. As always, when Harry takes the Completion Star, the Challenge will be over. The Bridge over the Void Harry is standing on a ledge now and has to perform a running jump over the gap to reach his first of 10 Challenge Stars spread throughout this Level. First turn around and you’ll notice a chest standing in each corner. Extract the Beans with Alohomora. Sometimes each contains a Choco Frog too, so try to catch it and increase you stamina.   Now jump to the middle platform and make sure you don’t fall down. If so, you’ll have to start allover from [13.1]   Turn right and jump through the arch to the next balcony. In the left corner is a Diffindo rope that will open the door on your left. Take care of the chest with Alohomora for the goodies. Standing in front of the Spongify carpet you will already hear the grumbling sound of some Gnomes. Spongify the carpet and jump high to the next ledge. Empty the cauldron for Beans with Flipendo and cast Alohomora on a suspicious looking niche under the arch. Enter the room with the cauldron and you’ll hear the sound of chimes. This is your 1st Secret Room! Cast Flipendo on the cauldron and take the Beans.   Turn left and cast Alohomora on a dark niche under another arch. You’ll see a chest in there. Go inside and listen to the chimes again. There is your 2nd Secret Room. Open this chest with Alohomora. Go outside and follow the track of colored Beans on your right until you reach a mechanism with a rope. Diffindo on the rope will lower both halves of the bridge on your left where you’ll see Harry’s 2nd Challenge Star in front of a spider web. Destroy the web with Diffindo and open the lock on your left with Alohomora. The Tower The Antechamber contains a cauldron with Beans. Now you’ll be standing high on a ledge. Look down: you’ll see the floor of a high Tower with two chests and 4 Gnomes. Now also look up to notice how tall that Tower is. Obviously you’ll have to climb that Tower all the way up through the protruding platforms. Be very careful with the Gnomes since Harry has only one lightning symbol. Left of the ledge you notice a staircase with high steps. Go down the stairs and stand on the lowest step. Stun a Gnome with Flipendo and quickly jump down to throw him into the closest of the four holes. Immediately run to the step again and repeat this until all 4 Gnomes are safely thrown into their holes. Now open both chests with Alohomora; one usually also contains a Chokkie. On the highest ledge you’ll notice another wheel mechanism with a rope to cast Diffindo on. A ledge with a Magic Carpet will protrude from the wall. Spongify the Carpet and jump up to a higher ledge. Wait, do not Spongify this Carpet yet! Follow the track of Beans all around the ledge. At the end a panel in the wall will slide upward revealing a Flipendo sign. Charm the sign and a short cut will show how a new track of Beans is formed along the ledge again. Follow the track again to the Carpet and Spongify it now. Take a high jump to another ledge with a Carpet. Again do not jump higher yet, but turn right and follow another track of Beans until you reach the wall. Turn around and in the opposite corner notice a staircase with three ledges and a chest on top. Walk there and open the chest with Alohomora. Most likely the chest contains a Chocolate Frog besides a number of Beans, but is very hard to catch the Frog and he’ll probably drop all the way down. Take a jump from the Spongified Carpet and jump to the highest ledge with the 3rd Challenge Star! Open the lock of the door with Alohomora and Flipendo the cauldron most likely containing a Frog. On your right a staircase goes down to a Save Book behind a spider web. Diffindo on the web and the saved game is yours. The Room with two Blocks [13.2] HP enters a room with a block puzzle, a ledge and a roof both full of Beans, a Challenge Star on a ledge, one on another ledge behind bars and one in the center of the roof beams that seems beyond reach. Hmm... your main puzzle in the Secret Level! You’ll have to catch all three Challenge Stars in this room in a certain sequence. First we’re going for the Star on the roof. Push the tall block near the ledge with the beans by casting multiple Flipendo’s. Now push the square block behind the other block. The new position of the blocks looks like this: Climb from the smaller block to the larger and do a running jump to the ledge. Cast Alohomora on the section of the wall right in front of you and a secret rectangle in the wall will open up revealing a hidden room. Enter and listen to the Chime sound, indicating this is your 3rd Secret Room. Go inside and climb the ledges on your left until you reach a ledge with a wheel mechanism. Cast Diffindo on the rope and a wall will lower allowing access to the beam construction under the roof. Grab the 4th Challenge Star and carefully walk over the Beams collecting all Bertie Bott’s Beans and then return through the Secret Room to the ledge and grab all Beans there too before jumping down to the tall block and back to the floor. Now push the small block to a side groove. Then you can push the blocks in a position in front of the balcony with the grilled fence:   Shoot both ropes with Diffindo and the grille will slide upwards. Go inside and seize your 5th Challenge star. Open the chest for the goodies, turn around and direct Alohomora to each part of the walls near the entrance. These are your Secret Rooms # 4 and 5. Open each chest with Alohomora and increase your treasure of Beans. Jump down to the floor and shuffle the blocks in front of the third balcony. Jump to it and you’ll see two Challenge Stars.   Take your 6th Star and enter the passage. The Library Immediately on your left you’ll see a door with a lock. Deny that for now and go on to your 7th Challenge Star. The door behind you will close and you’ll hear the grumbling sounds of Gnomes again. Go seize the Star and look at the Gentleman’s painting in front of you. Cast Alohomora on the painting and it will slide left and reveal a Magic Rope. Cast Diffindo on the Rope and a cut scene will show a bookcase sliding open on your right.   The new opening gives access to a dark passage going upward to your 8th Challenge Star. Walk inside and you’ll here the chimes: your 6th Secret Room! Grab the Star and turn left and right. Cast Alohomora on each wall to find two Secret Rooms # 7 and 8 - each with a chest on the floor. Open them – most likely at least one of both contains a Frog as well.   Walk around the landing and look down at the Library. The Completion Star is on a bookcase and downstairs you see a bunch of Fire Crabs and a couple of Gnomes patrolling around!   Go out to the left side of the Library and cast Alohomora on the Lord’s painting. It will slide aside revealing a Magic Rope. Cast Diffindo and a cut scene will show a bookcase in a corner of the Library halfway retreating into the wall.   Now run to the other corner and repeat that on the Lady’s painting. A cut scene will now show how the case fully retreats revealing a room with a Challenge Star!   Turn around and cast Alohomora on the chest at the end of the landing. Look downstairs from this spot and notice that the room with the Star is in the far left corner and that there are lots of chests between the bookcases. Go down the stairs through the open entrance near the Lady’s Portrait and notice that it gives access to the Library. Now return to the locked door near the sealed entrance of the second floor landing and open the door with Alohomora. Go down and find another door with a lock to open. This one gives access to an Antechamber of the Library. On the other side of the wall you’ll see a spider web sealing off an entrance. Don’t run towards it yet but before entering the Antechamber turn right and find another spider web. Open it with Diffindo and find a chest in there. Get the Beans out of there with Alohomora. Now walk into the Antechamber where the Crabs and the Gnomes won’t bother you and notice a cauldron and two Gnome holes in a wall. Cast Flipendo on the cauldron for the goodies. Cast Diffindo on the spider web in the corner and enter a dark passage where you’ll find your 9th Challenge Star. From the spot of the flipped cauldron watch the entrance giving access to the Library, and should you see a Gnome pass by, cast Flipendo on him, quickly run to him, grab him and throw him into a hole. You may run in to chase the second Gnome and stun him too for disposal in one of the holes. Watch the attacks of Fire Crabs and avoid them as much as you can, or flip them on their back by quickly casting Rictusempra. Run to the 9th and final Secret Room and capture your 10th and final Challenge Star. You may run around the Library now while stunning Fire Crabs with Rictusempra and opening the chests. Then run up again to the corner with the Gentleman’s painting. Jump through the gap in the banister to the first bookcase. Do not jump to the opposite case that holds the Completion Star because chances are that you’ll drop down to the floor. Instead, turn right jumping to all the bookcases in a large circle to the Completion Star, meanwhile grabbing all of the goodies that are on top of them. Finally, win that Completion Star! End of Challenge! [13.3] Harry is now in front of the Pink Lady outside the Gryffindor Common Room and has accomplished his Secret Gryffindor Challenge. EPILOGUE Harry is now free to discover the Castle and the grounds and find out if there are any other doors or walls that might hide things. To activate the Debug mode again each time press Delete and pass a wall or door or go flying around the stages of the game, through walls and floors and discover the Castle and the grounds! Perhaps you may discover some new secret areas! Have fun! Thanks to Warner Bros for this great game!! And even more thanks to Dr. Hugh for this excellent job!!!
