Chapter Four Hints

How can I get out of Locksen to see the ruins?
You'll need a couple of things -- proof that you are allowed to leave, and protection for once you do.

Where can I get a sword?
Well, a shop. But it won't work unless it's a good sword. How can you fix that?

The well's dried up!
Yeah it is, and you'll have to fix that. Make sure you look closely inside the well; maybe something will reveal itself with a few adjustments.

Where can I get proof saying I can leave town?
The only people allowed out are Rafael and his men. You're neither of them. But you could be... or at least close enough.

What do I need to do once I can leave?
Check out the castle ruins, you might find out something important. Maybe something magical will give you a clue.

How do I help this poor old man?
That thief looks pretty scrawny. Just threaten him with something.

That old man's got a ticket, but I can't just take it from him. What should I do?
Maybe you should find a way to make it so he doesn't need the ticket any more. Why is his heart broken in the first place?

 

Chapter Five Hints

Where can I get a candle?
Even though this is Acarth, there is a shop. You'll need to provide payment though. Money doesn't grow on... walls you know.

Where can I get rich earth?
A couple of places. First, what's the one place you would need rich soil in a place like Acarth? The second you should find while taking care of a certain hostile creature.

Where can I get some sweet water?
Well first you'll need some water. Whip out your trusty bowl and find some. Next, you'll need something sweet -- or sweet smelling -- to add to it.

How can I get across the acid river?
There's a boat right? But there's a hole in it you say? Well don't let a little thing like that stp you -- plug the thing up. And of course you'll need a paddle, or at least something long and flat.

How can I get past that dog?!
He's just a little thing, despite his teeth. Surely you can do something to "contain" him long enough to get to the door.

How can I get back across the acid river?
The boat certainly isn't going to help much now. There are those stones... but they don't go all the way across. If only that boulder on the hill...

Where can I get rose oil?
You have two options and they both involve plants. One will require a trade, and the other a boat trip.

Where can I find a priest?
In the most unlikely of places. The problem is getting him out.

How can I get the priest out of the dungeon?
The best way to get the priest out, is to get yourself in -- thrown in that is. But first you'll need to prepare. A couple of items, one hot, and the other, well, corrosive, should do the trick.

Where can I get some kalkidash powder?
First you'll need the actual flower. Then you'll need to turn it into a powder. Have you seen anything around used for grinding things up?

How can I get a piece of gold out of this wall?
You've already got half of what you need. The other half you'll find in the windmill.

Okay, I'm in the dungeon. Now how can I get out?
This will require several steps. First you'll need to distract the guard somehow. Then you'll need to find a way to get the door opened while he isn't watching. Next you'll need to figure out a way to get him into the dungeon and make sure he's preoccupied with other "burning" matters. Then you'll need to make sure he's down and out for a good while. And last yuou must ensure he stays that way. Oh, and he has something you may need.

How do I start the stupid ceremony?
Make sure you've obtained the three required items, and that you have spoken again with Thomas and the priest to tell them you are ready.

Where's that ancient sage again?
He's under the windmill. That means you'll probably have to go down through the floor, and don't expect the door to be in plain view either.
